what is important at a wedding is that there is lots of love and alcohol. love is cheap and the guests can buy their own alcohol at the bar.

1. i never said i believed what i was purposing, i was just putting it out there. i never changed my stance. 2. i think arguing something that can't be answered is meaningless. 3. i think this is mostly your opinion. just because religion is useless to you doesn't mean it doesn't give other people a eason to live and wake up every morning (even if they are factless, empty beliefs). 4. i'm sure what tried to teach us using physics made sense... to someone who went to school to study physics. they kind of made sense at the time but now i can't remember anything he taught me.

adam, i understood everything you wrote. don't underestimate me. i was never necessarily refering to the benevolent god from the bible. perhaps he is an asshole who is just playing a giant game with us. if proposing the idea that a god and can anything you want, you can't restrict him to being nice. regarding eveolution and genes... maybe he created his one little living organsism (have they ever figured out where that came from, btw?) and he was like alright, you grow and evole and i'll just sit back and do nothing. i know this sounds like a cop-out and i agree that it may be but if you're going to go into the world that anything can happen, then you can't make up rules. at any rate, we don't have any proof that a god like this doesn't exist (and that would probably be impossible), all we can do is rule it out as improbable (not impossible) and continue our lives. matters of religion are pretty much useless except to tie up loose ends (i.e. miracles) or making people feel better. my philosophy teacher is probably better at physics than philosophy and he used physics as an example all the time. my notes are filled with diagrams and numbers and other stuff that doesn't make any sense to me now. he also made it quite clear that he didn't believe in any god. he'd make his case for how god existed (or explained someone else's) and then tear it to pieces.

i think everyone but google should give up and hope that maybe one day they can find a cubicle to call their own at the monopoly that is google.

as joey used to say "cut it out."

i by no means have the answers. i wasn't giving my argument. it's neither an argument or mine. i'm just saying that if there is a god that can do whatever he wants, why can't he do whatever he wants? at any rate, no one knows the answer and it's impossible to find out. i've spent the last 8 months studying whether or not god exists in philosophy class so don't treat me like i just rolled out of the bible.
-
couldn't god be outside physics and all the other proof that he/she/it doesn't exist? of course it would be silly for a god to create something and not want credit for it, but hypothetically, couldn't god who whatever he/she/it wants (such as fooling us into thinking we have the world figured out in terms of science, etc)? and adam, when you reply with how this is impossible for x number of reasons, don't attack me personally.

i say move. an change your name.

i said 'that's all i'm saying' and i meant for that specific reply. adam, i am sorry nothing i do can please you. i try to reply using my brain and thats not good enough for you. i keep it simple and it's not good enough. i give my opinion and you don't like it. i throw out an idea and it's not good enough. i get the point, nothing i can say will make you happy. so you can stop criticizing everything i write here.

i think it kind of devalues life if you can life forever.

maybe the parabola itself won't be interesting but what it would show us would be, in regards to the topic at hand (not that we can't figure out what it would look like without actually seeing he graph).
-
if you were to make a graph that plotted age vs. usefulness of being a live (i don't know exactly how to phrase that) i think it would be a pretty interesting parabola. if i statistics on it and if i could remember math, i don't think it would take much to prove that with old age comes uselessness. maybe you're right... maybe a 75 year old could benefit for another 10 years. but i think said graph would say the average person is really only useful for x many years. but people would exceed this and we'd get into problems... when is a brain too old to support the rest of the body? etc.

i think there's some places technology shouldn't go. as people have been saying, people die for a reason. let it be.
