It is a god given talent...i'm thankful that he has the opportunity to share it with everyone.

First time i met Matt was when i won a contest to listen in on the soundcheck before a concert. I got to shake his hand and get a picture and he signed my Avalance cd cover. All of the contest winners had to then wait to get into the concert so a couple of us went to the restaraunt and that's when Rich came to eat (he had chicken caesar salad...god, i'm a dork) My second meeting was at a recent concert in Calgary. I had gotten a set list and i wanted it signed to i dragged my friends and my brother to the bus. We waited a while and then Rich, Pat and Christian came out and they talked to a bunch of us for a while. Rich said he saw me rocking out in the front row. Pat mentioned that Matt was feeling a little under the weather and wasn't sure if Matt was comming out...so to our surprise he came and sat on the bus steps to sign autographs. I went up to him and he said "hey sweetheart, how you doing?" He signed my ticket, shirt and set list. I told him how kick ass the show was and i wished him a happy birthday. And that was about it...i wanted to talk more but i didn't want to take up too much time because he wasn't feeling very good, and that i had a 2 hour drive home and it was already 1:30am. And that's it for now...to be continued...

Honestly i would act like i didn't like him, but would probably have a secret crush. I loved High School and most of my friends did too. I guess you could kind of call me a brown noser. But the guys i had the crushes on were not into high school at all, and in my opinion i would call them the bad boys. Sounds confusing i know, but i had this sort of split personality thing going on.

Well after hearing EIA i got hooked, but it wasn't until Apparitions when i bought my first MGB cd (underdogs) that i got crazy. Then i bought Beautiful midnight about a year later and i thought it was the best record i had ever heard (and to be honest, it still is one of the best) I went to my first MGB concert in 2000 i think (right after loser anthems was released). The concert was in Calgary on Matt's Birthday, and it had been the best concert i've gone to. After the concert i bought the earlier MGB records and bought "At last there is nothing left to say". I thought Matt was brilliant at what he does. He's smart and opinionated and not afraid to speak his mind. After the break up of the band, i became MG crazy even more. For Matt to continue his music career without his band, took a lot of guts. I love that he stood up for himself and never gave up even when all things turned to shit for him (band break up and ending relationship with long time girlfriend). His love for music overcame everything. I think he has matured greatly since the many mishaps and has become a better person over all. So last year (mar.24) i got to meet Matt in person in Calgary, and it was the best day of my life. There is nothing like shaking the hand of a man that you look up to and totally admire. After that meeting i have followed him extensively. Many have said that i'm obsessed, but i think that's little to far. There is not a day that goes by that i don't listen to his music or read his little articles on his website. I find him fascinating and he will never bore me. That's not obsessive is it?

ya, maybe i did get it from the metro.

I can't remember where i got this from, but i kept it for some strange reason. I don't know if i could trust the source (don't know if it's really a quote from Matt himself) but who knows...it still sounds good.

i know it's hard...and i'm sure that peoples lists will change especially after they see a show...but just have fun with it.
-
I just brought it up because this is my favourite MG forum and the people are really nice...and i just want Matt to see that. If he doesn't say hi, that's cool!!!!
-
yeah for Montreal...yeah for New York That's awesome that he is going to venture off into the states again. Although i can't wait for the media frenzy, especially concerning the new album...Poor Matt!!!

i know that it is a misleading thread title...but it sure got peoples attention...even though it was a little mean.

ya probably if you ask me this question again a month or two later there would be some sort of variation.

Well, i'm sure most of us here fans have seen Matthew Good/Band live once or twice (or at least heard live bootlegs). So i want to know, if you could make a Best of Matthew Good/Band Live CD that would be sold in records stores...What would you put on it? Just so people don't get carried away i'll make the limit of 10 songs plus 3 encores...and no Matt's not making a live CD (not to my knowledge anyway) Have fun with it...but pick songs that you think would make people interested into coming to his shows.

Those bastards...now i have my own bone to pick...just kidding.
