Matt has started streaming A Single Explosion on his website. Painfully cool!

On his blog today Matt said that the record is finished and is going to be mastered sometime in April. As I know almost nothing about record production could someone explain what mastering is?

Getting back on topic... Am I the only one who's noticing a tonne of elephant references surrounding this album?

I was at a show in Van a few years ago, and someone called it out. Matt responded by saying they hadn't yet figured out how to get the entire orchestra on stage.

I thought Mushroom closed down. If it didn't it certainly moved.

Said in a post sometime last week that he was supposed to start this Monday.

Matt has posted a partial tracklisting of the new album on his flickr page. He says its a tease, and as such the song titles are not entirely visible, but it looks like we can count on: Can't Get Shot in the Back if You Don't Run, If I was a Tidal Wave, She's in it For the Money, and Metal Airplanes making an appearance. All I get is incredible pain.

Does "She's in it for the Money" count? As far as I know its had only an acousitc version.

Yeh it was the work project. I can't remember if Matt posted any poetry himself, but I'm pretty sure thats where he posted those videos with Ryan Dhale. (I think that's how you spell his name.)
