On the rockier side... Giant Drag. Pretty interesting stuff. Again a guy and a girl but she sings and plays guitars and I think writes a lot of the lyrics.

I don't think they're still making music now. I just found Amplified Heart in my basement and realized how good they were at one point - that album was from 1994, and the last they made is from 1999 which is Temperamental - not bad either. And yeah, they had the song "Missing" (like the desert misses the rain or whateverthehell) which sucked, but oh well. ;)
