  1. my real beef with limp bizkit was that fred durst is such a douche and the lyrics were stupid. the rest of the band was okay, but ultimately i stopped listening due to the unavoidable douche-factor.
  2. i'm partial to the opening of "man of action", with the british woman saying "you are now listening to the audio of being" and then the synth and delayed clean guitar bit, with the bass coming in, finally exploding into the main riff.
  3. dude, if it's your last meal, who gives a fuck if it's sugar-free?
  4. okay. love the music. hate the vocals. if they ditched the vocals entirely, found a strong vocalist and gave him some cool lyrics, or replaced the vocal parts with a solo guitar/other instrument, i could get into them.
  5. from guitarworld: Mar 16, 2007 Wes Borland Returns With New Group Former Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, whose bizarre makeup and outfits and freaky contact lenses made him a frequent Guitar World photo subject in the Nineties, is taking on the role of frontman in his new group, Black Light Burns. The debut album from Black Light Burns, Cruel Melody, will be released on June 5 via producer Ross Robinson
  6. is that what he's saying? i never could tell what that was. now i know.
  7. puttin' on the ritz is available for download in various 80s collections on a couple bittorrent sites.
  8. for non-lyrics, definitely born to kill for conclusion. the one with the string section and everything just kinda goes nuts until the dial tone thing at the very end. that's awesome.
  9. wow. i remember that puttin' on the ritz song! taco was the name of the artist?
  10. me likey eastern influences...i'm checking it out.
  11. tough to pick one, but my favorite conclusion is probably from prime time deliverance: "...and she says, 'the best thing you can do is hang around a while'"
  12. wow cool! a boring band opening for an equally boring band! awesome!
  13. if you're interested, the frenetics made two other albums besides that while they were together. an ep called "scenery", and a full length called "grey veins to the parking lot". they're both great, but i have neither anymore (my hardrive backup catastrofuck). i saw them live a few years ago. 'twas a good show. and i'm glad you liked strummer's last album. i'd hate to have to stop talking to you.
  14. doesn't like the "n" word, and won't even type it out when referring to it. i can only assume that the "n" word being referred to is "nipples".
  15. here's a few more. i think i'm done for a while, cuz i honestly don't think i have anything else that you haven't heard/can't easily find on your own/would want to hear. post-punk/indie rock from la(?). came and went in the mid-nineties: 1,000 mona lisas - new disease post-punk/indie rock band from montreal, now broken up: the frenetics - these mistakes took years of practice if you don't like this one, we can't be friends: joe strummer and the mescaleros - streetcore
  16. don't forget lloyd robertson. llllllllllllloyd!!!
  17. needs to eat something and get some sleep (go for a long walk er something...that used to help me a little when i had insomnia).
  18. i seem to remember william hung being sincere and heartfelt in his cover of "she bangs". not enough reason for me to dig it. to each their own. if you guys actually like johnston's stuff, whatever.
  19. three poached eggs with chili powder on toast.
  20. i haven't/won't download any of the hippity hop you've uploaded, but shade: have you heard "original pirate material" by the streets? might be your kinda thing, if you like off the beaten path kinda hippity hop. i kinda liked it just cuz of the british accent/colloquialisms (chicks=birds....i love it!!). his release after that kinda blew. it was mostly about the trappings of success and what not.
  21. i know it's not a war movie, but band of brothers was awesome.
  22. 1/10. comic books...meh.
  23. i don't think i liked the song with jimmy cliff. i love uncomplicated, tokyo storm warning, leave my kitten alone, and battered old bird. costello's one of my favorite vocalists. his albums are hit or miss. i bought one called blue before i knew that it was traditional country music, and ended up hating the whole thing. the man is all over the map.
  24. i dunno. i don't really care what label an act is on. if i like the music, i'll listen to it.
  25. here's some elvis costello. blood and chocolate. the whole main album is good, and most of the bonus disc. there's a few stinkers, but i can't remember which ones right now. disc one bonus disc
