in all his recent tours, older songs have lacked any riffs etc. that dave genn created. in my opinion its to the detriment of load me up, and some others as well... the main riff was the unique part about load me up and what made it so addictive in the first place....

yeah the lo-fi one is just like it says.... lo-fi... its more hard edged than BM...
-
hey everybody i was just listening to the two versions of Born To Kill, and i decided that i like the lo-fi version better, it sounds really raw and primal, but then again the BM version has excellent orchestration and the end of the song is just super... so my official answer is that i love them both haha! what do you think?

goooooood movie very well directed, i liked it alot
-
Put Out Your Lights - sounds alot like a tune a garage band would play... not the best opening song ever i don't think, but still catchy enough.. Poor Man's Grey - good song, i like the guitar solos in this one We're So Heavy - initially wasn't a fan of this but its grown on me.. i like when it changes completely near the end Empty Road - very inventive i applaud mg for trying something new, this is one of my faves on white light... but i agree it sounds far better live - an electic guitar replaces the steel one... Alert Status Red - gooooood choice for a single, easy to remember lyrics, still not sick of it even with all the airplay it gets Little Terror - can't say this is one of my favorites, its not bad though... i do really like "motherrrrrrrrrrr, your son..." part In Love With A Bad Idea - great song, its really catchy, should have been single #2 North American For Life - reminds me of 21st century living for some reason... seems to me that the way its mixed its toooo heavy on the treble side.... Blue Skies Over Bad Lands - meh... most of the song is a snooze fest to me... the lyrics are powerful, yes, but it just doesn't turn my crank. when it finally does get going, its over. wtf mates. i'd say its good for relaxation purposes It's Been A While - sounds like a pretty standard mid tempo ballad to me. nothing special Buffalo Seven - i like the guitar lick thats used, and yeah the song in general too. would be another good single to pick. Ex-Pats - i like the who tribute chord progression, yessir its a good tune Hopeless - yeeee hawwwww pardner, very very very very different for mg, but i like it... must be cuz i live in cowtown...
-
Strange Days Load Me Up The Rat Who Would Be King Fall Of Man Alabama Motel Room Running For Home Yee hawwww
-
in ex-pats the distorded guitar has a similar distortion and identical chord progression when compared to Won't Get Fooled Again... but after the first few bars the songs are nothing alike.
-
on Prime Time Deliverance, how the first chorus section of the song has no singing in it, very inventive
-
ummmmm so which one is it exactly? ;)
-
seems to be a pattern in the releases made by mg lately, first he has an uptempo one come out, followed by a slower, mid tempo-ish one, followed by another uptempo one White Light - Alert Status Red, It's Been A While, .... guessing Buffalo Seven Avalanche - Weapon, In A World Called Catastrophe, Near Fantastica AOB - ummm doesn't follow the theory lol Beautiful Midnight - Hello Time Bomb, Strange Days, Load Me Up ( i think thats right ?) Underdogs - Everything Is Automatic, Apparitions, Rico LOTGA - hahah not sure which ones were singles, twas before my days...
-
when the drums cut in on giant the harmony on running for home on everything is automatic when it starts to speed up after "those birds are singing" the sliding guitar on all together wayyy to many to list, but thats a start!
