Should buy one of these so I can buy the other and then our robot insects can hang out. Seriously, watch the videos... I've never wanted a toy so bad in my life for some reason. I'm such a dork.

Question For The Ladies
hum-an-ole replied to shade's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
It's a mixture of both A and B for me, depending on what the song is about. I love how you guys are still calling it mixtape. Classic! ;) -
Doesn't realize how much he brightens my day.

I woke up to an unpleasant phone call from a friend and a disappointing message. I've got too much to get done today, I can't let this fuck my day over.
-
Should know that I'm considering it with the current state of things.

Is a good presence on the bored. edit: that was for Az. Adam knows that I love him.

I've had that happen fairly recently, but I think it was because I took a Gravol. I rarely take pills.

I literally woke up not knowing who I was last week, due to a dream continuing into my conscious state. It took a few seconds to realize what was going on. It was one of the freakiest things that's ever happened to me. My mind was so blank. This morning I woke up because I had to tinkle (haha, tinkle).

Is more proof that people can be happy and pleasant. ;)

Chris seems to wait the right amount of time before he does it again, so it's always a surprise to me and makes me laugh. ;)

Haha! I love when you do this. Seriously. It's the best thing ever.

Customer Service is a lost art. It's a sad truth that is up poor Adam's ass.

LOL. I watch most of them.

I was taught design on a PC and we only had the chance to try an older Mac at the end of the year. It became apparent to me that I may need to learn to use one, considering every design firm that I came across used them. I got my Emac and once I became comfortable with the idea of things working differently, but more smoothly, I began to love it. My initial frustrations with it faded. It would take a lot to get me to switch back.

Peculiar. That's almost exactly what happened to me, expect with a Powerbook (which actually had a great reputation for it's hardware at the time), not the Macbook. I never said quality control hasn't gone down. I believe it has too, but I don't think it's significantly lower than most other companies; it's only surprising because Apple had such a good reputation for it's higher standards. I still don't agree that Apple's suck or have shitty hardware. They are making some wrong choices as far as business goes, but the intention of the product is still superb, and performs very well when manufactured without flaw. The new Macbooks are made with more power, but cost significantly less that the older notebooks. Apple is cutting their quality control budget, and increasing their marketing budget. It's all about generating sales, clearly. Apple already has a lot of professionals using their computers for production, music and design, and their current target market are young adults who can't quite afford to spend a few grand on a computer, but are willing to spend a little more than usual to try another (possibly better) product, are slightly careless with their things, and are tired of that other poor excuse for an operating system. By spending less time and money on ensuring quality, they can focus their energy towards reaching this market through advertising and lowering their prices to a more reasonable one for someone in that category. This plan will most likely backfire on them if too many people like yourself receive the mistakes that slipped through their ill trained (if existent) screening staff, but looks like they're taking the chance and it seems to be working alright for them so far, considering their sales have vastly increased in the past few years.

Sure you have every right to be bitter, but you're original statement was that Macs suck and that their hardware is shitty. That's a pretty ridiculous generalization based on one experience. That's all I'm trying to say. It didn't take me 6 months to get what I wanted, it was that the problem became apparent after 6 months. Sorry I wasn't clear on that. It took several calls to get to the right person, mind you, but it was definitely worth it.

In saying that, you're pretty much implying that every computer is a failure, because non of them are perfect. Every computer lacks in some areas. I'm not saying that Apple shouldn't have compensated you; clearly they should have. I wouldn't have given up if I were you. In fact, I was in a similar position last year with my old Powerbook because of, yes, hardware failure. It had been almost 6 months, but I didn't take no for an answer and I got what I asked for because of it; this MacBook Pro. Sometimes you have to push your way to the right person to get the service you deserve, and this is true for more than just Apple. Welcome to the modern world of business, where everyone is out for themselves and customer service is a forgotten practice. All I'm saying is that there are always hardware problems with any kind of computer, regardless of the brand, because computers aren't made to last. Like cars, they're generally only made as good as they need to be for the standard user, because the manufacturer wants it's customers to purchase the next model. Sure you're Apple was expensive compared to a pc, but that's because it's more aesthetically pleasing, provides a better OS with additional software, and is comparable in the hardware area. Just because you know a couple people with some tough laptops, doesn't mean that's the norm. I hear complaints about hardware from all around, but you are actually the first I hear, other than myself, to complain about the mac. My conclusion: You're just bitter because you made some mistakes with your notebook and you didn't have the negotiating skills to suck Apple into replacing it.

isn't a fan of potty mouths

I think you just have bad luck Adam. Plus, you chose the inferior model when purchasing. My Macbook Pro is yet to have a single issue and I take it everywhere with me, using it all fucking day (and night for the most part). You can say they suck all you want, but hardware issues are a part of life, whether you're a Mac or Windows user; You get what you pay for.

I woke up from a confusing dream less than an hour after falling asleep last night. I woke up feeling distraught this morning due to a similar dream.
