  1. Agreed. I remember happening across his Manifestos when he was just coming to the end of writing them. It was like finding a bloody gold mine.
  2. The Rat Who Would Be King. Hands down.
  3. This whole situation engenders a deep sense of paranoia. Even if it is a hoax, or a joke, or whatever.
  4. Well put. Never seen the movie while sober, but it's a fantastic movie nonetheless. But I would say that it has been so deeply appropriated now that it's difficult to see the gem it was when it first came out. Then I think about Aronofsky's stuff, and find myself still jarred by his work, and it's just incredible. I'm not sure if his stuff CAN be appropriated. But I'm something of a Pi fanatic. Requium I only needed to see once and it was etched into my skull.
  5. Agreed. However, Buffy was graced with a fantastic writer, which always helps. But yeah. I mean, the movie was alright... And pretty much "alright" because of Jolie... But yeah. I'm going to have to go with Flop, unless there's divine intervention.
  6. Wow. I don't think I've ever seen Matt with a beer on stage. Which is odd, because most of the bands I've seen have had a beer at least once, or someone has been drinking, but from the In A Coma DVD commentary, Matt was mentioning how he wasn't on speaking terms with alcohol. Interesting.
  7. Very cool. Yeah, it's really eye-opening to get out of the small hometown and wind up in a larger place, in this thriving environment of people. Terrifying, but very cool.
  8. Nine Inch Nails - And All That Could Have Been
  9. Yeah. The summer's the only time I really get to read all the stuff I pick up during the school year, since I'm usually up to my neck in class reading. Most I can seem to manage during the exam period is books of short stories as I can usually read one on a study break. That's how I read Neil Gaiman's Smoke & Mirrors and John Gould's "Kilter: 55 Fictions." It's a good time, and I'm probably going to do that over the weekend with Haruki Murakami's "The Elephant Vanishes" I think this year my Girlfriend and I are doing a sort of reading list for the summer. One of us starts at the bottom, the other starts at the top, and basically just plow through as much as we can. I haven't read any of Ethan Hawke's stuff, but I've been meaning to. Came as news to me last year when my girlfriend brought it up. I'll have to try and sneak one of his books onto the list somewheres. Edit: And just out of curiosity (May be a long shot) but is your username by any chance reference to the band of the same name?)
  10. Always have been, always will be, a sucker for Giant as an opening song. Just sets the mood so well for the rest of the show.
  11. This is fabulous news.
  12. I was under the impression that Matt had pretty much disowned the early demos, no? I don't know. I'd be all up ons to snag hold of a copy, if sold at a respectable price. I enjoyed a fair few of them, but not enough to drop a good chunk of paycheck on it.
  13. Aye. I'm pretty sure the lad will be good to go real soon. Then rescheduling the K-W date from last monday. That would be real nice.
  14. I can't believe I fell asleep and missed this! Sigh.
  15. Aye. I'm rather leery when it comes to a girl being adamant that I beat the crap out of anyone. Agreed, it's not a cool scene, and he certainly deserves it... But yeah, I'm willing to go with the "not worth it" scenario, especially with a fine pair of pants on the line.
  16. no. we should start a club, or just using our burning hatred for doing good... like destroying every fall out boy CD ever created, etc. As for the hating of Fall Out Boy: There are many more bands that deserve the hate more than Fall Out Boy. Panic! At the Disco, for example. Not saying I'm Mr. Fall Out Boy, but I can stomach them. as for the downloading: I routinely misplace CDs and DVDs of mine. So, yeah, I've downloaded some stuff, rather than turn my room upside down looking for it.
  17. Right here
  18. Congratulations. I thought the first round of acceptance was stressful. Currently waiting to hear back on Grad school, and I'm bloody terrified. But yeah: expect a lot ot change in Uni. But it's not all for the bad. Usually. ;)
  19. Blargh. Apologies for the double post.
  20. Used to love the Colt. We had a lot of crazy nights together. Then, things got ugly. Spent the night with a 45 a couple years back. Paced myself. Got pretty drunk by the end of it, but nowhere near puking drunk or even "feelin' kinda woozy" drunk. I was actually doing alright before I went to bed. Woke up the next morning to my stomach pumping out congealed malt-stuffs from my stomach. Felt like the poor organ was trying to turn itself inside out. So yeah, me and Colt, we don't talk anymore.
  21. The part that completely won me on the movie was the opening scene. It was perfectly slow-moving to the point where I was in agony trying to figure out what was going on (having not read the source material) Absolutely loved this one. Just wish I wasn't so damn broke right now so I could buy it.
  22. I really enjoyed Matt's version over this one. While it was somewhat pretentious, there were moments where I don't think he was being entirely too serious with the text. Still, very cool. Thanks
  23. Climbing up the walls from OK Computer... Grhagph. So I had to vote OK computer. Although, I really liked Hail to the Thief a lot. Excited to hear their new album this year.
  24. Saw the video for "Everything is Automatic" when I was just sort of bothering to watch Much Music on a regular basis. Initially, I hated it. Not sure why. Then I realized I had no good argument for why I should dislike it. Then I picked up Smash... Y'know, that mix cd with all manner of random artists on it? EIA came on through headphones, got into my brain, and that was it. It was curtains.
