  1. She was also on the new Handsome Boy Modeling School cd as well. Very cool performance. Haven't heard much of her other stuff, but I've been meaning to.
  2. Agreed. Clone High specifically, but a fair few likeminded dvds have chewed away a good chunk of study/essay-writing time. I still regret nothing.
  3. Neil Gaiman fan?! Mightily so. My love affair began with Good Omens, moved on to Neverwhere, then Smoke & Mirrors. By then, I was in love. American Gods followed, and I'm salivating to crack into Anansi Boys. And I've not even said a thing about his wondrous graphic novel stuff.
  4. Never much liked beer until I hit University. Then it was a cheap and plentiful way to get sozzled while maintaining a measure of pseudo-coherence for slightly longer than if I were drinking straight alcohol.
  5. This thread definitely smacks of the post-13-page-essay neuroses. *wells up* I think I might be home. Yeah, finished two thirteen page monsters in eighteen hours from Thursday night to friday afternoon last week. I'm STILL trying to keep my eyes from going out of focus when I rest them for too long.
  6. Gahhh! Another movie I've been dying to see! Alright. Study break this weekend will be devoted to watching at least ONE movie I missed in the past eight months.
  7. Yeah, I lived in a concrete shoebox with some stranger for my entire stay. He was in engineering, I was in Arts. it was like the bloody capulets and the montagues. That said, we kept all the hostility beneath the surface, and whenever things got too nuts, video games were the band aid that would keep the killing to a minimum.
  8. The Jacket. God. Damn. Amazing.
  9. I love Clone High in ways that make most people blush.
  10. Gonna admit it. I like Harry Potter. Got into it backwards though. Saw the first and second movies, then read the first three books, then saw the third. The fourth was the only one I missed seeing in theatres, sadly, and still haven't watched it. Then again, I still haven't watched Mirrormask either. Sigh. I fail the movies.
  11. I'm an absolute sucker for Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Harvey Birdman.
  12. Oh shit. I can't believe I neglected this one: "I'd read my horoscope, but I just can't pull it off alone."
  13. Completely missed that. I like it. I like it a lot.
  14. Ooh. This is going to be rough. Oceanic by Isis Oxeneers Or: The Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home by These Arms are Snakes Underdogs by Matthew Good Band Rain Dogs by Tom Waits Miss Machine by Dillinger Escape Plan Still by Nine Inch Nails Relationship of Command by At the Drive-In Director's Cut by Fantomas Mit Gas by Tomahawk Self-Titled by Jesu
  15. Hm. I like the current trend in two versions of the greatest hits collections, in which there's the deluxe edition for the fans, and just the stripped down "singles collection" for the rest. Thinking about In A Coma, Massive Attack's "Collected" and Mclusky's Mcluskyism. In all three cases, there's the regular single-disc release, and then there's the two-three disc release of rarities, extra bits and pieces and stuff the fans would really dig. If they're put together with care and intelligence, it's a good release for both parties, and they've got all the bases covered, pretty much.
  16. Deftones - 7 Words. I hear tell these cats are performing a lot of Adrenaline/Around the Fur stuff on their Taste of Chaos dates. Weirdness, I figured they woulda been demoing their new material. Ah well. Wish I had the chance to catch 'em.
  17. Heh. I don't know if I could handle seeing him buzzed, even if he were slurring a bit. "You jus push a lil button... A monkey could do that." Would just start playing in my head over and over and over.
  18. A very good point. Had a weekend job out-of-town, so I needed a car in res. The journeys to the LCBO or Sobeys quickly became silly, silly adventures.
  19. Living in res is great. I don't know what bad experiences you've had are, but Im finishing up my 2nd year in res and planning on doing a 3rd. I think the experiences in res tend to be dictated by the people on your floor. I wound up chilling with a couple really cool people on my floor, but I had nothing in common with anyone else. Results in a very frustrating time, because you just wander around and either have indifference or dislike for most of the people around you. But yeah, with the cats I got along with? I had myself a blast. I'd do it again in a second.
  20. I don't know, I'd say if it's simply to control population and keep things from getting too out of hand, to attempt to establish some equilibrium, then I say fine. But yeah, I'd say a lot of the hue and cry results from the fact that seal pups are real cute. Yeah. That's a good reason to protest something.
  21. Eels - If You See Natalie (Live W/Strings)
  22. I think one of the main reasons why Matt Good isn't perhaps as talked-about as he should be is also because people wanted him to just make another Beautiful Midnight. The masses are fickle, and if someone does something that unsettles, then they don't always pay attention.
