  1. I think we did it because we were stoned out of gourd at the time, and it seemed like a good idea. It really is hard to do though.
  2. I remember screwing around with a recording program with a couple of my old bandmates and recording stuff, reversing it, then trying to record us saying the reversed sounds so we could reverse those and see if it came out forwards. Words backwards sound nothing like they do forwards. [EDIT] Prosis, if you email me that file, I can upload it to my putfile account for us all to scrutinize.
  3. I'm almost positive it's the "love is a strong word" part being played in reverse, seeing as I just recorded myself saying it and played it in reverse and it sounds very similar.
  4. If that page was a woman willing to have sex with me, I would hit it.
  5. Must... wait... til... payday...
  6. In regards to the news posting about the lyrics, I'd say we can hold A Single Explosion as official
  7. I love this song so much, definitely my fave RHCP song. Calendar Girl by Stars
  8. It happens to the best of us, I forgive you. I listened to a couple songs in their myspace and enjoyed them, so I'm kinda excited to see them live.
  9. And by "duo" I'm assuming you mean they are a duo called Dala, right? ;) They're playing right before Tom Cochrane at the Calgary Stampede next weekend, I'll probably go check them out.
  10. I don't think there was any request from the label for more "single" type songs. Born Losers and I'm A Window were both on the teaser picture Matt took of the original tracklist for the album.
  11. Daniel Johnston is most definitely an acquired taste in my opinion.
  12. Depending on the set up of the venue, 2nd level seats aren't too bad. I saw West Side Story at the Jack Singer in Calgary and was in the mezzanine level and the seats were fabulous. As for Matt Good, I'm in row R of the center orchestra section at the Jack SInger.
  13. I love that song so much.
  14. Girl Wedged Under the Front of a Firebird really freaks me out.
  15. I was wondering where the embed code for the countdown was. I didn't think to check this thread, so I just looked at the page source for the main page and got it from there. Way to go, Shane, doing things the hard way.
  16. I haven't heard it since listening to the CFOX premiere of it, because I can't stand modern rock radio, but it was definitely edited.
  17. "The only place to find freedom is in the dictionary" line I think is one of the most important lines in Alert Status Red when taken into context with the song and what it's about.
  18. In that case, fair enough.
  19. Metal Airplanes (now that we can actually understand it better ;) ) On a plane somewhere over the sea Above the rain, the bottle sets me free I turn to stone and fall back in my seat The cuts are gone, but, somehow I'm still bleeding You know it's true, there's nothing I can do You know it's true, there's nothing I can do about you Move to France, La Rochelle or Nice Get a house, pretend to live in peace Paint the walls, a black out of your face Stalk the halls and move into the basement You know it's true, there's nothing I can do Pick a fight, it's just you being right Walk away, there's nothing I can say You know it's true, there's nothing I can do about you So don't you mind the gap when you leave There'll be time enough to turn tail tomorrow Broken up like a tanker on the rocks Not made of much, I'm like the Cubs against the Sox On a plane, somewhere over the sea I fall asleep convinced that I ain't breathing You know it's true, there's nothing I can do Pick a fight, it's just you being right Walk away, there's nothing I can say You know it's true, there's nothing I can do about you So don't you mind the gap when you leave There'll be time enough to turn tail tomorrow
  20. I'm kinda wondering why anyone would want the radio edit to be quite honest.
  21. That song is kinda "meh" to me. It's just never done that much for me.
  22. He's done bits of that on most of his albums though, along with doing things like setting up microphones to capture random noises. Personally, especially in the context of this album and what we know he went through before writing it, I think it fits and adds lots to songs.
  23. I'd love to see this album performed full band, without a doubt, but I'm also really excited to see the songs performed how they were written, which, as far as I understand, was basically all acoustically. I'd be happy to hear Odette in any way possible.
  24. Go nuts, I deserve it ;)
  25. We already have the lyrics to 99% ;) I Am Not Safer Than a Bank Well, is it larger than a baby's arm? A few more cocktails will straighten you out And we'll get to the bottom of it Something better to disarm, you were in the bathroom far too long Now look at you go I'm not safer than a bank, bitch I'm not safer than a bank, bitch But I'll tell you this, because you're bound to find out Nothing is LOLZ And note to self- check the thread so you don't laugh at someone for posting lyrics to a song we already have and then go and do it yourself. Feel free to razz me over this.
