  1. hello kitty kat - Smashing Pumpkins
  2. I got it for Christmas, and I was so surprised at how good it actually was. Props to the Shatner, he should keep this up as long as he can work with Ben Folds. "THAT'S TOO MUCH KNOWLEDGE!"
  3. No question, Simple Plan. These guys are such phonies. They know their demographic is whiney thirteen year olds, whom 'no one understands', and they milk it. These guys should wipe my ass. Everyday. Until they die. Good Charlotte is trying to milk the poseur goth look, and they sound pretty whiny too, but my secret shame is that I hum along to 'Predictable'... Yellowcard should actually tie for worst with SP; I hate these guys. I bought Dude Ranch in '97 (in Grade 7) and ever since, I have been a blink fan. I know they aren't that good, but I really like their last album. Bring on the hate if you will.
  4. Monkey Gone to Heaven is obviously great, but I have a real soft spot for Letter to Memphis. Their BBC disc is really good.
  5. I was really surprised to see that old Neil would be playing the Junos. It's easy to forget that he's a Canadian, what with the lack of touring up here. Anyways, I'm excited. I wonder what he's playing? Be the Rain maybe?

  7. Pinkerton has a map of Japan with Weezer related names and things on it. The album was inspired by Madame Butterfly, hence the map, cover art and Geisha girl. ...and because of that Japanese fan letter in Across the Sea I guess...
  8. My Matt Good playlist has taken over my computer again. So much Good... Otherwise, the Beatles, as always, on vinyl.
  9. I have to say John and Paul, as no one can touch the Beatles. Hey Jude = perfect.
  10. I can't stand hearing about it and not seeing it.
  11. He would have to relearn to play Fearless. I would love to hear it, but on the other hand it is kind of similar to Apparitions. I suppose if they were separated in the set it would work out well. As for other tunes, it would be cool to hear some different, totally unreleased material.
  12. Right now I'm trying to listen to Wilco's "Less than you think" in it's entirety, which is fine if you are doing something while listening to it. Other than that, a whole lotta Beatles.
  13. Hey! Modest Mouse was on the OC and they are great. Also, the Killers are pretty good. Mr. Brightside has made me like them more.
  14. I was totally impressed with it. My first time seeing them was in October on the Put out your Lights tour, and I was so impressed with their set that I had to go buy the album. I was not let down.
  15. Amelie was one of my all time favourite movies, so I really want to check this one out. That, and so I can look at Audrey Tatou for a couple hours...
  16. Are you sure? It looks like her.
  17. I saw him for the first time at Edgefest '98 in Edmonton. I think they played '99 too. Then I saw them December '99 with gob and Moist at the Shaw Conference centre. I saw them at the Corral in Cow Town in 2001, on Matt's birthday. In early 2003 at the Joint in Edmonton. June 23rd + 24th 2004 at the Starlite Room. Oct 2004 at Red's. So that's 8, not bad.
  18. I am paying money to see this movie for one reason only, and taht is seeing Doctor Doom, much like how I am seeing Star Wars Episode III just to see Darth Vader at the end. If this movie is total shit (like I fear it will be) it means good comic book movies (Batman Begins, Sin City) are really going to have to work for it to keep the stream flowing.
  19. You can like whatever music you want to like, but the fact is, people talk about how great wilco is because...they are freakin' great.
  20. Yeah, I saw it the other day. I was impressed that the bio was that extensive, including his removal of the mblog.
  21. Gah! Must hear this song... I liked Seriously Serious, although the general vibe towards it here seems negative.
  22. My favorite moment was at the Starlite in Edmonton and I told Matt I was going to be a social studies teacher and he was like, "OMG!!!11 I <3 SS so MUCH!!!""" It's mostly true.
  23. The BonTempo stuff has some of the funniest lyrics i have ever seen.
  24. Malkmus has his 3rd solo album out this year, too, which will rule
  25. I guess the song that really defines the '90s for me is 1979 by the Pumpkins. It will always be one of my all time favourites.
