  1. A scan is unnecessary. It's a vertical half-page, and the bulk of it is an add for Hospital Music. At the very bottom it says "new album 'Live at Massey Hall' coming this fall"
  2. There is an ad in this month's Exclaim that says it's coming out in the fall. If they bought ad space, it has to be true! Right...?
  3. I wasn't a big fan of 300, but his take on Watchmen looks good. He is keeping to the book as much as possible, including an animated "Black Freighter" comic that will probably be included on the dvd. I am looking forward to it not sucking.
  4. But also accept that this was one of John's strongest songs from his LSD phase. The Beatles liked to get high. And whether they used Lucy or Julie the lyrical imagery would still point to the song's drug influence. Why is this a problem?
  5. Excellent new banner, Anton. Has anyone else seen this movie yet?
  6. I don't want to say anything to ruin it. I like the Mulder Scully relationship. It's still really tense. I liked the Scully arc, though my roommate hated it. I didn't like how quickly it ends...the climax is rushed. Oh, and it lacks the sense of humour the series had in its heyday.
  7. Just saw it, and I think a lot of people will hate it. I liked it though. The beginning put me off but I got won over halfway through. I was hoping it would be a bit more gruesome....I've seen episodes more off-putting that this one. It's not going to win any new fans over.
  8. Ohad and Spearin are both with BSS....I think that's it though.
  9. Man, I would watch that. I would watch that hard.
  10. I felt the same. Plus, the Jube is a great venue for sound, but not for getting into a rock show. It would have been great for Matt to talk to the audience a bit more, too. The show would've felt less rushed. I also dozed off twice during the opening band. It was kind of a lackluster night all around. On the bright side, I loved 99% of Failure and Odette a lot, and the Josh Ritter cover was really good.
  11. This is a long shot, but I've been trying to get Sloan's party album for a while now. Anyone? "Recorded Live at a Sloan Party"? I'm about ready to give up on it, but the version of "I Am the Cancer" from it keeps me searching.
  12. OH SHIT like it's bad? I didn't really like their version.
  13. Actually, given the complete shitting of the bed that was Make Believe, pretty much anything would be better, and this album does that. "The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" grows more awesome with each listen, and I honestly like it without guilt. Otherwise, the lyrics aren't strong, but the music is pretty good, and the whole theme of the album seems to be weezer saying "we don't give a shit" and it works. Geek rock? Totally. And they LOVE it. And I hate hate hate Maladroit and Make Believe, so just imagine a worthy successor to the Green album (it will keep your expectations low) and you will be pleezed.
  14. Cadence Weapon is a 'he' and not a 'they', but yeah, totally rad. I still haven't picked up the new album bt Breaking Kayfabe was badassss.
  15. I've been trying to find an mp3 of this. FYI, Gary Young was the original drummer for Pavement..then he was fired...then this happened. Sing this song for friends or relatives, it's a great sing-along.
  16. I hope Windmilling will be on it, that song was nice.
  17. A Link to the Past was my favourite until I played Wind Waker. The story is great, bringing a lot of change while staying true to the series, and it's really, really fun.
  18. Excellent timing, Meg. I hope you dig it. By the way, I just got my new computer today so there won't be anymore problems with cd exchanges in the future.
  19. I'm only in if it's regular mail. I thought the point was making physical cds for each other. I'm sure we can work this out.
  20. Should we start getting this together yet?
  21. The man doesn't have any skittles. What isn't clear, Meg? How can you make nice artwork if you can't taste the rainbow?
