I saw David Usher @ Commodore Ballroom last night, and it's my favourite venue because the stage is decent and the sound is great. As usual, he was a vision of energy and health. He played a ton of old Moist stuff and a couple brand new songs he wrote a few days ago. Very cool, very catchy. He's just a great singer live. And so very gorgeous. As an audience member put it, "Sexy Thailand Man!" indeed. Afterwards, we went around back and met with him for a bit. He was so gracious (I know everyone always says that about musicians who meet with their fans after the show, but he really was!). He made sure to sign and take pictures with everyone who wanted. We didn't need to ask he just sauntered up to us and said "Is there anything you'd like me to sign, or pictures?" I could have died.

Right now I am listening to "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds. And maybe it's this cold and threatens to destroy me, but this song is breaking me to pieces. Sad piano...sincere, heartfelt lyrics... What better way to tell someone you love someone than "Next door there's an old man who lived to his nineties And one day passed away in his sleep And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days And passed away I'm sorry, I know that's a strange way to tell you that I know we belong That I know"

Well, from what we've seen, she's a pretty unfit mother. No children should have to deal with a mother who abuses substances... I think that's kind of deserving of at least a little contempt... And really, by being a media personality, which was her career choice, she inevitably does become a role model. And thusly, a poor one. I suppose we're pretty harsh on her...but she does deserve it. She's making poor life choices, and she oughn't to get away with it.
