Official Tour Setlist/review Thread 2009/2010
oneeighty replied to here is no why's topic in Matthew Good
Well, I envy those of you who have seen enough MG/MGB shows to compare and contrast, but FINALLY I'm making the trip across the Ocean to catch two of his shows [London and Parry Sound]. Having looked at the playlists posted to date [and thanks for posting them, btw, it's much appreciated], I can't contain my excitement. I just know that whatever songs are played, and however many are played, it's going to be a fantastic experience. Thanks for the reviews guys, it's adding to my anticipation ;) -
Has the album entered the charts yet, or will it not be until next week? [sorry, don't know when the Canadian Album Chart is compiled]

Alex, Thanks a million for your help. I have a friend in London who I met here over the summer, so I'd have no problem making the journey across if it needs to be done. I'll probably rule out Georgian College if the only way to get tickets is to know someone who goes there. I'll be flying home from Toronto on the 29th, and Kingston only seems to be about three hours away, so I'd have no problem making the journey, either driving or using some sort of public transport. Thanks again ;)

Hi all, I really hope people can help me with this. I'm from Ireland, and will FINALLY be travelling across the pond to see MG live this Fall. Firstly, I just found out that our Semester One exams, that are usually after Christmas, are during the whole of December, so that pretty much rules out that month for me. I'm on work experience for the end of October and start of November, so I've come to the decision that the best time I can fly is really 22nd November-29th November [give or take]. So, that means I've the following shows to choose from: Barrie, ON: Georgian College London, ON: Centennial Hall North Bay, ON: Capitol Theatre Parry Sound, ON: Charles Stockey Centre Kingston, ON: K-Rock Centre I've checked the websites, but obviously venues are going to try and sell themselves to you. I was wondering if anyone has attended a show here before, be this to see MG or another artist? I want to see at least two shows if I can [money, money], but I'm really at a loss as to what the best bets are in terms of the venues. If anyone could point in the right direction, you'd be doing me a fantastic favour. Thanks in advance ;)

Yeah, I'm from Ireland and hope to get across this summer if he's playing. I was in Chicago last summer and was hoping to head North to see him, but alas, minimum wage jobs for people without Social Security Numbers don't exactly leave you with money to burn. Anyway if you hear of anything from Matt's end, I'd really appreciate it if you would share it here. Cheers.

Okay, having gone through the archives very briefly, I don't think this has been asked before. Does anyone know who Duffy is? I'm taking this from the last line of Invasion 1. I recall that in one of his manifestos, his old man addressed him as Duffy. The reason I ask is that it's my sirname, so it's always intrigued me.
-
Oh my God - he played The Rat Who Would Be King with the band? I need to sit down.
-
Maybe so, but any interview I've read with Good about the new album has alluded to his disorder in great depth, so while the timeline might not be accurately represented in this piece, you can't blame the author for ignorance; rather, misinformation as presented by interviewers and reviewers.
-
I'd give my right arm to hear that he was playing some time in August when I hope to be in that part of the world...
-
If anyone wants a copy of All Together, let me know and I'll sort something out. I wouldn't be very adept at megaupload and the sort, but it someone PMs me or something with the best means of making is available, I will.

I'm not sure if that's right. The only song that my Zen picks up on incorrectly is I Miss New Wave [Deep 6ix, as already pointed out].

Wow. I can't get over how people are so blown away by Champions [and yes, that's a way of saying I voted for it. What really surprises me is how The Boy Come Home survived so long. ;)
-
Wow. Someone got served. ;) Given that I'm a Window is now on Matt's MySpace page, maybe that tells you something? Or, maybe it's just up there and I'm speculating for the sake of speculating.
-
Ditto; but it's still far too early to speculate. Though one thing's for sure, it won't be Champions of Nothing ;)

http://www.matthewgood.org/hospital-music Anyway, lifted from the page Just in case there are those in that area who don't visit his site. I'm going to be cheeky enough to ask, even though I'm from Ireland, but am spending the summer in the States, and where there's a will...

I really don't like this song. It's irritating, the female's vocals offer nothing to the piece, and it just seems to drag on for a painful amount of time. The "skip" button will be in use once more on a Matthew Good album, which is a shame, because the other three tracks that were streamed were all pretty much above average.

Any1 Else Not Listening To The Streamed Hm Songs?
oneeighty replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Matthew Good
I admire your discipline. I think he tossed up Put Out Your Lights and Alert Status Red before the release of 'White Light Rock and Roll Review' and I didn't listen to them, but looking back now, it didn't make a whole lot of a difference, so I decided to avail of what he's offering this time around. -
We're a class of sixty. Three were kicked out of college for consistent plagiarism in semester one, I've never seen anything like it. Exams in two weeks. Someone hates me a lot.
-
Yeah, they're worth it.
-
That's what I thought. But I'm heading across the pond this summer to Chicago, which might just co-incide with an MG tour, and I'd pay whatever money I had to somehow get to Canada from there.
-
Will there ever be a contest for that?

Yikes, I like the song, but that's a pretty bold statement ;) -

RE: Near Fantastica homepage's latest news bulletin: This is the third song streamed off of Hospital Music. Did I miss something? Or is this in reference to Black Helicopter? -

Wow, this song is very good. I'll admit I didn't get overly excited after hearing A Single Explosion, but this is pretty good stuff. I never heard the bootleg from live performances, so I can't compare, but I really do enjoy it. Also, it seems from comments on his blog, there may be one more track streamed in the coming days, and then there will more than likely no nothing for quite a while. I can't remember his exact wording, but it was something along the lines of streaming the whole album, but only closer to the release date, which could be "months" away... -
That's quite odd. I was just about to get on and start a new topic about some fucker taking my Audio of Being and In A Coma CDs from my bag earlier. Sorry to hear of your similar but more substantial loss.
