It's so sad.... After a decade, Matthew Good will come over to Europe - and there is no way to order tickets. I used to fly over from Germany for 2 nights and see his show - spending hundreds of Euros just for flight and hotel - and no way to order tickets ? Please next time, order a bigger location. *sigh*

Matthew in Europe will be great. It is so complicated to get over the Atlantic. And to get a ticket for the show.

Yes, that was my Deal! A fistful of songs are on my Audiotapes and They are all stuck on my old ancient Tapes. Youtube is a good way to publish them. And to make videos of them also. Brilliant idea to finish them. In 2004 I was able to record all that stuff on my own, 2012 I am able to pimp up this Demos for the internet. Sadly, I am not native english speaking. But am really interested in Matthew Goods music. Please do not expect too much from me in answering to Forum Threads.... I can not read beetween the lines. Cheers from rainy Hamburg Goodbanding

Beautiful Midnight is such a massive album. It made me quit writing songs. But to fight against the genius of the album, I decided to cover them all. I studied the songs. The project is not finished, but I am glad, that there are other people, who feel like me. I did record the following songs of Beautful Midnight: Load me up Failing the rohrschachtest Suburbia Going all the way. "Load me up" is a killer. I was not able to sing it well, so I got two versions. One is a duett, the other is a comedy. The tapes are lost somewhere, but I also covered some other tunes of Matt: Fated (http://www.jens-kuersten.de/musik/fated.mp3) Omissions of the omen. (http://www.jens-kuersten.de/musik/Omissions%20of%20the%20Omen.mp3) I really would like to share my tapes with this community. Greetings from Hamburg Jens

Nearly One year ago I planned my holiday from Germany to catch a show in Canady. I was really looking forward to see Matthew Good live again. There was a direct flight from Hamburg to Toronto and I send some emails to Matthew goods site. Maybe my english was not good enough to explain what I wanted. Holidays to another continent arent so easy to plan. Even if you are not native english-speaking. Massey Hall tickets were avaible so I asked directly to officials how to buy some from over here. I want a ticket in my pocket before I spent money in such a travel. But: The direct-flight from Hamburg starts in June and ends in September. The Gig was in May. And I never received any answers from Canada. I forgot about my plan and went on Holiday to Finland. And I was really really happy as I found out, that my missing concert was recorded and is out now on CD! On 2 CDs! That was one of my highlights 2008. Magic! Jens

I made a little homegrown video for Black Helicopter lately: http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/142468 It seems to be quite stupid... But it was great fun to do it. And Matt is always first in line to check new possibilities. Cheeers from Goodbanding.

Hello Everybody, the new Matthew Good album will not be realeased here in Germany. We will get poor in ordering it over amazon - but there is no other online-shop who offers it. I am interested in 5 Pieces of the new album - to send it here to Germany. Amazon taks 5 times toll and packaging. Do someone has a tip over there how and where to order them ? Greetings from Sunny Hamburg Jens

Has the project already come to an end ? It would be fine to have a complete CD with all the songs. Greetings from icy germany Jens

They are all gone? That is sad. I won't upload them again. But here is the link to the "goodbanding"-stuff: www.jens-kuersten.de

I'd like some Lenny Kravitz by Matthew Good.

I am right now uploading a couple of covers I did in the past. My plan was to cover the complete Beautiful-Midnight album, but my life has changed a bit. The versions are not so new - but hopefully new to you. Here is my work until now, Hope you'll enjoy the music: FATED - Aysha is playing the bass and is singing. A very beautiful coverversion FAILING THE ROHRSCHACHTEST - The beginning is spooky, the ending is cute. HELLO TIME BOMB - Very spooky version with a funny "Bee-Gees" part in the 3 verse. There is a massive sample of Wolfgang Petersen "Das Boot" in the middle of the song instead of a guitar solo. Don't listen too loud. SUBURBIA - 2 Guitars, Bass and JanO singing. It was my warm-up recording- done in 2 hours. HAVEN'T SLEPT IN YEARS - just Depressive....Contains some random samples from german cable TV between 18.00h and 19.00h. LOAD ME UP - The strangest coverversion ever. I worked over 3 months on that little thing. But it did not turn good. I was not able to produce that rocky sound from Matthew Good. I was so frustrated, that Load me up was impossible to cover. I played 4 different versions and not a single one was good. I produced several Instrumentals but found no singer. My voice was too weak for this song. I went to the hairdresser and told him about my frustration with "LOAD ME UP". And he bought the instrumental - karaoke version, invited a friend and sang LOAD ME UP on his own. He also translated the lyrics to german. I think he wanted to have a version for a big party or whatever. I had nothing to do with that chaos. Really. Believe me!

Where And When Did You First Hear Matthewgood
goodbanding replied to davidedward's topic in Matthew Good
A friend of mine gave me a copy Promotion from Beautiful Midnight. He also gave me promotionstuff from 20 other bands. He worked for universal that time. I switched in the CD and listened the first time to "giant". After that i switched in all the other CD's but had to retourn to Matthew Good Band. Universal wanted him to conquer Europe and my friend wanted me to pre-listen to him. Five days later he phoned me. He told me to come to the Matthew Good Band Gig in Hamburg. He said, there is defenitly no excuse: i have to see him. So I went downtown to see him. I have just listened to this one song: "giant"!. My opinion on that day was: Matthew Good is not able to top giant - so I do not have to listen to the rest. Back to the club: They started the show with the Cheerleadingtunes and made one of the best gigs I have ever seen!. (Just the legendary Peter Gabriel was better). The Club was packed and I was only able to see Dave Genn. I thought that Dave Genn is Matthew Good! He was so brilliant that day! I thought: That is that kind of the band, the guitarist is the leader! Like Mike Oldfield or so. On that day, I discovered the future of Rock'n Roll ! I will never forget that gig! Home again, I switched on Matthew Good Band again - and have listened many many times to his tunes until now. His music is always fresh and I'll never get fed up with it. -
Last of the Ghetto Astronauts - The drums sound great - The native son drum solo is really cool. I like the groove that the bass and the drums do in all the songs. The guitars are more simple than today and the whole album is rocky.

Favorite artists: 1.) The complete: Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART - Each tune from this guy touches the heart! Still after 220 years! Unreachable! 2.) The Beatles - They never wrote a boring song! Giants! 3.) Matthew Good (Band) - He never wrote a boring Rocksong. And everything touches. ;)
