  1. so it sounds like a lot of people here have seen good shows. i was just wondering if you wanted to revel in the glory of it all. here i'll start (say what concert) i went to his show at the Kool Haus in November of 2004 and it was the best thing i've seen since sliced anything. he was playing with Limblifter and Melissa Auf der Maur both of which were great but by the time Matt came on we were really ready. He opened with Apparitions, ah the beauty. so what i really remember is going home respecting matt so much more. he sounds better live than i've ever heard him on any recording, and that's an amazing thing right there these days. so firstly i respected him as a musician, and then as a person. there were these idiots crowdsurfing then crashing and falling on the floor during his acoustic songs and throughout and he got really fed up and started swearing at the crowd he actually said "grow the fuck up". he's up on stage still strumming, and yelling at these kids because he doesn't care if they stop listening to his music. at one point they were trying to get onto the stage and he actually backed away from his microphone, i felt so bad just because of how badly we were treating him. i don't see why he'd want to play another show here after that but the music was so beautiful none the less. care to share?
  2. i've seen one of his shows and don't remember anything like that. i'd hope i would catch something like that...oh well i'll look for it next time.
  3. so has anyone read his book, or the online manifestos? because i'm working through the book right now and am going to work back but i find them amazing. i love how on the back there are reviews i.e. "complete crap from beginning to end" thata boy matty. embrace the critcism, also has anyone heard about Black Market Surgery? When's that coming out and was there a title change?
  4. still haven't seen it, but i'm on the second book. i like that kind of humour, wasn't there a movie made a while back already that didn't do so well?
  5. hahaha it seems like a lot of people here haven't been to Hamilton. i don't live there, but i must have gone there some time or another...i must have.
  6. hey i'm into jazz. i'm part of the Humber College Community Music program since i was like 3, so i grew up with music and i'm in a jazz band, have been since i was like 10. We play Music Fest the competition and always get invited to nationals, this year was Vancouver it was pretty hip we got stuck in an elevator at the Hilton for almost an hour. ahah anyways i do enjoy the ones you mentioned the greats right, but i'm trying to get to know more musicians that are you know..alive. what's really great is that at my music school all the teachers are real musicians like that's what they live off of they play gigs when they're not teaching, so it's nice to hear their stuff. you should check out Pat Metheny a jazz guitarist he is freaking amazing, and he destroyed Kenny G on his site recently. google that, it's a laugh if you can understand it.
  7. never heard of the emergency, feel like i should. but wait east coast? hah unlikely i would actually.
  8. hahahha yeah they made 3500 copies. i thought it was a new thing (the promotion).
  9. yeah her story isn't so great, but maybe romantic in a twisted way how much he loved her. and how he helped her escape.
  10. ah gold thanks, that's not the jack thing i was talking about it but it'll more than do.
  11. so is that really going on, the promotion? and what store, hmv? cause i already have both but i do want Lo-Fi B-Sides..i don't even know why just to have a copy i guess because i have the three songs on it either way.
  12. cool, thanks yeah i love that song.
  13. i love how everyone spells zeppelin wrong, just a general statement. must be one of the most mispelled band names. Black Dog still drives me crazy.
  14. way to live out those fantasies, i felt the love in grade 2 but now all desires of seeing bsb in concert have diminished. i still haven't heard their new single.
  15. they went to the highschool down the street from my house. when the radio plays their singles excessively it pretty much ruins it. a little too mainstream for me in that sense driven to hate.
  16. sorry can't say that i do. but i think it's cool that you like matthew good and are into rap, because well that's pretty rare. they're very different sounds one possibly much better than the other.
  17. 21st Century Living- Matthew Good
  18. right right now? Ballad in Blue- Helicon Blue
  19. i realize this is pretty irrelevent, but i was curious is Matt's wife Jennifer, as in THE jenni of jenni's song? i recently read the night opus, where he said he wasn't in contact with her anymore. how much of that story do you think is true? "I am not going to say that this story isn't truthful, to the contrary, it is. But I'm not going to say that some of it hasn't been tampered with."
  20. hey, not in may but a really long time ago i remember a poetry link off of matt's site (before the new layout). i can't remember what it's called and don't think it exists anymore, but it was "jack" something. his poetry is so different than his lyrics, i'm wondering if it's the same thing you're talking about. does anyone know what the url is or have the poems?
  21. i heard it had something to do with a promotion at a certain music store, if you buy beautiful midnight and another album, you'll get Lo-Fi B-sides
  22. so many, i've cried to some too. truffle pigs, sort of a protest song, house of smoke and mirrors, prime time deliverance, fated. strange days and apparitions, of course.
