i've had a problem with the health care system. my family doctor got a job at a hospital so her practice was shut down, so all her paitents had to find a new doctor. that was when i was 12 and still no other doctors will take us. i've had many, many medical problems since then and because i'm not with any doctors they've often prescribed me a medication that doesn't help or makes things worse and they say "we don't know why that didn't help" and then give up. i'm stil living with those problems now so you can say i'm pretty bitter towards the whole field now.

it's not creation, it's altering whats already there. and it's just as creepy to be turned on by a car as it is a video game character

you're right, airbrushing and digitally creating something are much of the same

of course kids still smoke and drink, but some wait until they're of legal age. if we let anyone drink, the negative affects to drinking would be even more severe and apparent. even if you look past rights, think about the medical bills and taxes that are going to go up as a direct affect of raising the age. the idea behind drinking and drug use is that you lose control of your body, it's a way to escape so to speak. so using such things to do so has nothing to do with the right to control what you do with your body. you have to keep in mind that there are age restrictions on things for a reason, and not so adults can get off knowing they have more power over their kids for a few more years.

children today in our society are too spoiled to take care of themselves, so if we let them drink or smoke or drive we would be putting them and ourselves in danger. it's not that all kids wouldn't be able to adapt, but the majority lack the maturity required.
