The setlists keep getting better with each show. We're all so quick to judge. ha! -

I completey agree with reveling in the new stuff we get to hear now. When I saw Matt during the tour of AOB I was hoping to hear most of Beautiful Midnight. Now I wish I could hear the stuff that he played from AOB. A couple years from now we will be wishing he would play songs from this album that we may never hear live again after this tour. We should appreciate what we have while it's here. -

No one's ever going to completely agree with any setlist really. There's always going to be at least one song you wish he would have played and and probably one or more that you would have replaced with another. I think those of us on here just want variety from previous tours because most on here have seen him numerous times. We are deffinitely complaining about what I'm sure has been (and will be) incredible shows. I think Matt gets it that we on here want to hear some different stuff, but instead of it sounding like we have some requests, we are making it sound like we're not happy with his performances. And he's right - it is getting tired. I may have some personal requests for when he comes Hamilton, but I'm just pumped to see whatever he plays. The new stuff is sooo good live from what I've seen, and really just that is good enough for me. Seeing him play anything is an amazing experience. -

And jenni's song too?? That song is amazing. The biggest thing I'm noticing - that has been said a few times already - is that most (if not all) of the songs that are being played that are not from Vancouver are the same songs that were played on the last tour. I hope he adds in other stuff as the tour goes on that we haven't seen live in a while. -
1) Last Parade 2) SOAPS 3) All Together (tough choice) 4) Going All The Way 5) Little Terror (another tough one) 6) So long Mrs. Smith 7) LMU 8) Great Whales 9) Silent (Album Version)

We really can't (shouldn't) complain with any Matt Good show. He's amazing live and I'm never dissapointed. The videos I've seen of the new stuff live looks incredible and I'm pretty excited just for that. I'd almost prefer just to hear the entire new album. Of course we all like to hear certain older gems that we love, but the new(er) band has already learned a lot of new material with the new album. -

I agree 100%.......except I really like Us Remains Impossible and want to hear it. Good to see Fought to Fight it in the newer setlist. -

Matt basically did that last tour, but it was mostly because of the new band and the fact that they were preping and perfecting for a live album. Now that they've been together for a while I hope they've worked on some of his other older material. I also have to say that I much prefer his new guitarist over Christian. The only one I really miss from the old band was Pat on drums - he was amazing. My wife misses looking at Rich - ha! -

We all are looking forward to hearing the new stuff. Most of us on here have been to his shows more than once and have heard the rest of the material played numerous times. We look forward to some of the more rare stuff which in the opinion of most on here is some of his best work. It's the non-radio hits that brought most hardcore MG fans to really love his work. The setlist is a bit repetative for those who have been fans over the years. -
I think it probably does have to do with the new band. They are limited to what they've practiced, so the set list can only be so long and unfortunately goes without many of the songs the bigger MG fan would like to hear. The songs that become priority are the songs that are appealing to the majority.

I'd be ok with him taking out all the radio songs other than Last Parade. He's got so much good music that is left out lately from his live shows. I guess it's tough when you have so many albums to pick from. -

Did he slow down the end of HTB? If he does that I'm ok with him playing it at every show I go to. I was actually really looking forward to hearing Fought to fight it live. I think that song is going to be great live. Really I'm looking forward to hearing all of the new album. I hope he mixes up the older songs he plays. I'm always a fan of him throwing in a few songs we don't expect to hear live. Especially because we've heard all the extras (other than the new album) in the recent tours. His slower more melodical songs are what I want more of. -
1) Indestructable 2) Suburbia 3) Put Out Your Lights 4) House of Smoke and Mirrors 5) Pledge of Allegiance 6) Double Life 7) Fought to Fight It 8) The Fine Art of Falling Apart 9) Near Fantastica
-
that is tough. especially considering the amount of extremely good songs he has closed albums with. My picks are Champions of nothing and Running for home. However Giant and Sort of a protest song...and House of smoke and mirrors are too hard to overlook.
-
I don't have this song either. Anyone wanna send it to me???
-
If you're on Facebook, I posted a pretty good video of that song from that night on the Matthew Good group on there.

As a consumer of a festival ticket I would have been pretty pissed off if every band there that I didn't know as well as a hardcore fan might know them didn't play they're radio hits. If i wasn't a huge MG fan and didn't know his music outside of radio I would pretty much expect to hear what I knew. it really just makes sense. It is after all a festival. Each band is performing for a large range of people. People go to festivals to have a good time with some good music playing. Who likes listening to music they don't know at a festival? If you want a fuller range of an artists music you go to their concert, not a festival.
-
I agree with that 100%! In addition to the newer beginning of Load me up, I really missed the way Hello time bomb was done in previous concerts when it was slowed down at the end. I really like that version better.

Matt's the brains behind everything I love about his music. I don't care what he calls himself or his band, I'm still gonna listen to him, buy everything he puts out, and go to his shows. I do love the band he's playing with now though. The new guitarist has really improved the live shows. I miss Patt though, he put on a great show as a drummer too. I don't ever remember him singing back-up though like the new guy does. I also deffinatly love him having a pianist on stage.
-
Ya, The whole show was so great I want to get my hands on it somehow. Does anyone have an inside scoop of what going on in regards to releasing the material? Someone on here has to know something or be able to find something out.
-
Same as everyone else has said. the show was amazing! Champions and Blue skies over bad lands and strange days were my favorites. But everything was done so perfectly and the songs flowed together perfectly. I've seen him 16 times and this is deffinatly one of the best I've seen. There's absolutely no reason for it not to be released as it sounded so perfectly. I also got the chance to finally (after so many shows) meet Matt and get a picture with him. Pretty unreal.

I'm not sure if this is an approved Matt Good site or not....but proceeds seem to go to charities so........ GO HERE: http://24bitstereo.googlepages.com/historyteacher.htm It's almost all of his pre MGB stuff.
-
And I'm gonna be there!! I'm gonna randomly yell out "play Rico" throughout the show......but not really though. However I'm sure there will be some idiot that will yell something just to be heard on the album.

Ya! Can we get a set list??
