  7. Thank you very much, can't wait to try it out. I do need to get a good book of trumpet music, most of my books are for piano, and I just transpose to trumpet. I have a realy good fake book of Thelonius Monk compositions, and most of them carry over pretty well to trumpet.
  8. I wasn't being entirely serious...
  9. Does anyone know the notes/scales that So What by Miles Davis, are based around? A friend taught me opening melody on piano, then I played it on Trumpet, but I can't realy improvise at all with it because I don't know the modes. I can't believe that there aren't more people using this thread!
  10. I'm cheating and saying i have 50 posts, even though this is my 50th. Is it sad that despite the fact that I have a life, i feel inadequite with a measly 50 posts? I love the Bored.
  11. Why was Nazi the first thing that came into my mind when I read that? Two words: Room 101 Personaly, I think the observation that religion if the fount of all evil is closed minded and uneducated (no-offense). Religion, early on, was created to explain the unexplainable, everything from earthquakes to why we are. Eventualy some (or rather lots) of bad people latched on to this occurence and took advantage of it for the purpose of expoiting and controlling people. Not all religion is a tool to avoid thinking or a tool to control people, there are people of every religion who actualy do strictly follow the set of morals that that religion stands for. Look at Bhudism, it's a religion, but it mainly exists to help people, and to help people help other people. As for the problems of today, I think pinning the blame on only religion, or only money etc. is out of the question if true enderstanding is what you want. I don't claim to be inside the head of George Bush, but I think that he does genuinely belive in god blah blah blah, but he is also very motivated by personal gain and so on. Likewise for many problem casuing religious leaders. (On a side note my personal spirituality is there is no god, and that all I know is that music brings me to a place far beyond the realm of the explainable.)
  12. Him playing on his own? Or on THE ALBUM In a Silent Way? Miles Davis - Live at the isle of wight 1970 (drool)
  13. I have a horrible confession to make. I have become addicted to a poisonous slice of FOX reality TV: So you think you can dance. I have seen every episode exacept for the first one, and last week's (my friend forced me to watch Donnie Darko for whicj I am most grateful). The host is a frightening plastic faced perky robot-like excuse for a human, but aside from that, I find that I have a developed a strange fondness for this pathetic show. I was wondering if anyone else has sunk as low as me and allowed themsleves to be ensnared in this evil.
  14. I like them all. It reminds me of a certain Gorrila mask...

  17. I think it's already been asked, but... Well star wars is higher budget and better acting(in some cases anyways), but star treck is just so funny, the acting is terrible so emotions=laughs, and the sets and costumes aree equaly amusing. When was the last time you had a haircut?
