  1. There was one female smurf (smurfette)...i touched on that earlier in the thread.
  2. I am amazed how accurately the poll results reflect the study results in the link at the beginning of the thread. I am also amazed how imaginative many of you are.
  3. A friend of my father's has met with and spoken to Harper many times, and this was his conclusion: Stephen Harper is a very intelligent man, but he is a terrible politician because he says what he means - he doesn't say what's popular or what will make people like him the most, he says what he actually believes in. Of course, that by default means that some people are not going to agree with him. And i think that if Harper were to be elected, gay marraige would definitely not be banned. For starters, all he ever said was that he was going to have a free vote (he felt the Liberals forced their members to vote with the party in the first vote). He said that if the vote resulted in gay marraige remaining legal, he would drop the issue forever. Secondly, i honestly don't think Canada would allow him to ban gay marraige even if he really tried. Just because he has some ideologies you disagree with doesnt mean hes a bad man or a bad leader, it just means he isnt you. Of course, that goes for anyone. Also, a few of my eastern friends have told me that the Conservatives are just slandered all over the east for no real reason. Apparently some people think that the Conservatives are essentially Neo-Nazis, or bad for Canada, or whatever. Honestly, i think the whole Canadian political system is more of an East/West/Quebec thing than any sort of left/right liberal/conservative division. Except more the outspoken views of Harper (who is probably the worst person to lead the Cons right now - this election shouldnt even be possible to lose due to the Liberals consistent fucking over of Canada), the Canadian Conservative party is still very leftist on the world spectrum, especially compared to the USA. I heard a neat little thing the other day that sums up the entire Canadian politics in 4 neat little lines. Perspective may cause some people to disagree anyway. The Maritimes want more Quebec wants out The West wants in And Ontario wants it all
  4. This sums up the entire situation perfectly. That, and that Alberta has exactly zero influence in federal politics.
  5. I know the reason i personally didn't buy it is option 3 - because i won't pay for stuff i already own.
  6. I'm 18... and a half.
  7. Your intellect is truly blinding.
  8. The parental advisory stickers are affixed by the RIAA, it is their decision which albums get it.
  9. Lego was the coolest. I had so much Lego. Actually, its in boxes in the basement, so i guess i still have it.
  10. Food-stealer!
  11. Yes, they did have the ending in mind all along. All of the episodes involving Fry's freezing connect together perfectly, from the very first episode to one of the last. You can see Nibbler's shadow whenever they show Fry falling into the freezer, and sometimes you can see Fry's shadow too.
  12. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2004/...41206193849.htm Apparently 2/3 of kids have had an imaginary friend by the time they are 7. I know I sure as hell never did. Anybody? Tangentially, this show is very weird and funny.
  13. Well, since the majority of rural areas are controlled by drug-trafficking Cartel-run roving milititas, i would say..... Get rid of the cocaine trade and bring the country under control of the govt. Seriously, i wouldn't go to Colombia if you paid me (a lot). Highest rate of kidnapping in the world (>3000/year), the entire country is run by the Cartel, and leaving the cities is pretty much a death sentence unless you have your own personal army to fight off the numerous paramilitary faction armies already there. Nearly 25,000 people are murdered there every year. The govt has almost no influence in the rural areas. Would you go out there if you were a doctor?
  14. It bothers me when people think Christianity is in some way superior to or more correct than any other religion. Where's the love for Quetzalcoatl? It's all the same thing. Myths written by ancient peoples to attempt explain that which they did not understand. Jesus has as much legitimacy as Zeus, Quetzalcoatl, Osiris, Jove, Muhammad, Vishnu, or Zoroaster. Which is to say, none. No offense to anyone who's going to be offended by this (there's going to be at least one).
  15. Hahahaha. It really doesn't matter at all to me. This holiday has been so many things over the millenia nobody (including Christians) really has any claim to it. Almost everything that constitutes Christmas now (the tree, presents, decorations et al) are Pagan celebrations that way predate Jesus. The Pagans had Yule (like supercanuk said), and the Romans had Saturnalia (like ecnarf said), then the Catholics came along and assimilated these ancient celebrations into their own religion to make it easier to convert people. All it is now is a consumer holiday, with some family values and a splash of Paganism. Unless you go to church. But really, call it whatever you want, it really doesn't/shouldn't matter.
  16. There is evidence to show i have done that here many a time. (NF Moonbase?) I regret nothing!
  17. Red Sparowes - Mechanical Sounds Cascaded Through The City Walls And Everyone Reveled In Their Ignorance
  18. Marge: (inside, washing dishes)Bart, is your father quite finished with that barbeque? Homer: (outside, running with umbrella) Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!!! Homer shoves umbrella into barbeque, which opens and sends him flying Bart: He's done. Mmmm... unexplained bacon.
  19. Homer: Here are your messages: "You have 30 minutes to move your car", "You have 10 minutes", "Your car has been impounded", "Your car has been crushed into a cube", "You have 30 minutes to move your cube". [phone ringing] Homer: [answers] Yello, Mr. Burns' office. Burns: Is it about my cube? Homer: Hello, My name is Mr. Burns. I believe you have a letter for me... Post Officer: Okay, Mr. Burns...what is your first name? Homer: I don't know...
  20. They're making a straight-to-DVD movie (original voices and everything) due for release in 2007. But nobody involved wants to reincarnate the series, so it just isn't gonna happen.
  21. It is one continuous attempt, solved incrementally over the first 12 episodes while simultaneously introducing the government conspiracy which is parallel to it, which is the focus of the second group of 12 episodes.

  24. Epiphones can vary pretty widely in quality - i find the relatively few worse ones make a bad name for the rest of the good and okay ones. But for 335 copies, you really can't beat it. Unless you wanna go for the real 335 and spend like $4K. I have a Dot, my particular one plays and sounds great. It says in tune really good now too since I installed a Graphtech nut in it. I am asking for a keyboard of some kind because i want to learn to play piano.
  25. Hahaha. Maybe you just don't like babies very much?
