well, i didn't want to say outright that they're terrible.. but most bands have their fans follow them well into the decline of their careers. i wouldn't say that's staying power. people still like third eye blind, but come on now...

The system has failed is like deth's 3rd best album , and it came out 3 years ago... they're still touring and kicking ass unlike the rolling stones or third eye blind...

like i said, you like them, that's a fact. that's not being debated. are they still relevant today? not so much. i don't see them being heavily promoted anywhere, nor was i even aware that they have a new album coming out. basically, they're hitting a minor demographic that doesn't, in any way, reflect staying power or relevance on a mass scale.

Last night on muchloud there was 4 straight hours of deth, they aired their live concert from 2005 in Argentina twice, and an hour of straight megadeth videos...

yeah. much tends to overplay a lot of mediocre stuff. actually, it's been pretty much all megadeth for the past 3 or 4 days i've seen. they'll do that with billy talent eventually, too.

Maybe Rammstein... they've been doing quite well lately in Europe from what I hear, and probably not bad in the US for a German band. Plus they've been together since 93/94 (but didn't release a successful album until 94/95). They haven't so much as changed any band members sincxe they started. In contrast to one of their rival bands, Megaherz, which since its start in early 90's no longer has any of its original members.

these are all bands who i see having staying power, in the senses of both content as well as maintaining a strong fanbase.

Is that limited to Canada? Because no one gives a shit about any of those other than Interpol or Muse in the U.S.

wrong, wrong-o. i read all kinds of stuff about tv on the radio in magazines here. (ok, one magazine. spin. which isn't that good.) people give lots of shits about isis, as well.
