Limblifter (superthread)

I'm thinking of buying Limblifter's new album, I/O, but I'm not much for purchasing albums without having heard a single thing from them... Is there a lead single for it that I can listen to somewhere? Or are there any samples of the album posted anywhere? The official website is very rudimentary, and MapleMusic.com doesn't contain any.

Any help appreciated

The only Limblifter songs I know are Ariel vs. Lotus and I think they also sang Tinfoil. AvsL was and still is a GREAT song. I'll be able to better judge them after I see them open for Matt on Oct. 20th.

Yipes, reading my post again.. very unclear. I've heard stuff from Limblifter's previous two albums, but nothing from the new one at all. That's what I meant to say.

They're used to be a couple songs on "DiePopstar" radio, but now that www.diepopstar.com is gone, it doesn't exist anymore. But they released the song "Get Money" as a radio single... I myself like the new album.

Really? Judging by your avatar, I never would have guessed!

MMM ryan is so hot, well definetly was. I met him back in July in toronto at the Mod Club, he was so sweet and nervous looking, it was adorable.

I met the current Limblifter line-up recently, and they're all pretty nice people, in my opinion. But I really like "I/O".

I don't think "Limblifter" really sounds like that. I'd say they're pretty unique, they are alt-rock, but I think all three of their albums are pretty different from each other...

I've never hard anything by them. This weekend I'm going to try to track down some of their stuff on the Hub.

Posted

The Hub is like Mount Olympus for music. Home of musical gods.

That said, I now love Limblifter. They're in my top 15 favourite bands after one day of listening to them.

Posted

I've never heard them. I went to a show of the put out your lights tour, and they didn't end up opening for Matt.

Does anyone have the "Limblifter" live bootlegs that are supposed to be on the hub? And if so can you send them my way?

They were so funny at the performance in Vancouver for the Put Out Your Lights Tour. The lead singer was like "This isn't an assembly, this is a rock show, now stand up!" Then i heard a couple of their songs and now i love them. I wanna get their I/O CD so badly!

Posted

They kept asking us to buy the album in the lobby heh.

Posted

I would have bought a CD but i was pushed outside by everyone and then became too lazy to go back inside, curse my laziness!!!

Posted

it is available in stores.. unless you're to lazy to go to the mall

Posted

Well then i'll go get it next time i'm in the big city of Vancouver (sometimes it sucks living in Squamish, no malls anywhere)Thanks for the info Saturnine.

was never a limblifter fan until my friend recommended I/O... so i bought it, and i still can't keep it out of my cd player(s).. matt good actually does backing vocals on one of the songs called "alarm bells".... and pat steward did all the drums on the album.

i highly recommend I/O.. but thats just me.

i'm so hardcore.. i've been a fan since '97.. ok, i did at one point intentionally throw their first cd under my bed for a few years.. but i found it! and then i listened to it all the time.

I love this cd. To me, it really feels like it was made in the 90's. And thats a damn good thing. I miss cd's like this.

I was totally impressed with it. My first time seeing them was in October on the Put out your Lights tour, and I was so impressed with their set that I had to go buy the album. I was not let down.

You can hear all the songs from their new album on the website...

So, as some of you may have heard David Paterson has quit music altogether, and Burrento has been off helping others a lot lately, so here's apparently what Ryan Dahle has mentioned in the comments section of one of the blog posts on the Meegee Blog and on the myspace website. The line up will of course have Ryan Dahle, Megan Bradfield is also returning this time, and Kurt Dahle has returned for now, whether or not Kurt Dahle is a full time member or not, I have no clue.
