My friend eats Cheerios and mayo. He'd even just eat mayo. It's nasty.

The weirdest thing I normally eat is peanut butter on hot dogs. It sounds gross but it's actually pretty decent. I mixed KD with some taco mix the other day. It was good except it would have been better with rotini and real cheddar because it would hold more of the sauce on the noodles.

Sometimes my girlfriend makes me 1/2 chicken noodle and 1/2 tomato soup and pours it into a bowl that has grated cheddar cheese at the bottom. It tastes pretty good.

the weirdest thing i do foodwise is make peanut butter, jam, and cheese sandwiches(cheez whiz). i don't think that's very weird, but i've gotten questions and strange looks at work for doing it before. i used to make toasted chili cheese sandwiches too.

Margarine is also nearly plastic. I've just come to accept that I love plastic.

That hotdog paste sounds hurl-inducing.

Margarine is definitely not "nearly plastic". It's not even a polymer of any type. By your logic gasoline is nearly plastic.

I'm going to be a really annoying chemist someday.

EDIT: Owen, what type of plastic is Cheez Whiz so similar to?

My source was just some crazy Fw:

Pass the butter ~ ~ ~ ~ This is interesting.

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavorings.

DO YOU KNOW... the difference between margarine and butter?

Read on to the end...gets very interesting!

Both have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods..

Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine..

Very high in trans fatty acids.

Triple risk of coronary heart disease.

Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.

Lowers quality of breast milk.

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..

This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

You can try this yourself:

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends.....(If you want to "butter them up")!

So I was just talking out of my ass. There was actually no logic there at all. ;)

I'm certainly not going to argue with you about science, Adam. Since you seem to know, is this just complete bullshit or what? Because I love my margarine. Real butter kind of grosses me out.

A complete lack of nutritional value doesn't make it bad per se. if ketchup were made of, say, petroleum distillate, red #5 and chemical favouring agents, I'd still put it on a hamburger. Margarine is the same thing, really. It's not like you eat a scoop of margarine on an ice cream cone for breakfast. If you like it, use it. It's not a main course.

Ketchup and Margarine....YUMMY!!! I'd put ketchup on the girl if I could...can't live without it.

Good point Collin. I really don't use it much, but I definitely prefer it over real butter.

haha, I'm chinese. Pork intestines are nothing new to my tastes. lol Sounds pretty good, if not a little fatty ;)

Then you'd totally dig this. I'm hoping my mom makes some for xmas...

Ugh. People, Margarine is made from VEGETABLE oil, not petroleum.

Jeezus.

I want some pickled beets. And as much as I love chinese food, quite a bit of it is a little too weird for my recoverin -vegetarianism.

For the record, butter is waaaaay better than margarine any day.

And butter goes on everything.

In culinary school we used to put pickled beets on bagels with sardines and cream cheese. It was way better than you'd imagine.

Posted (edited)

Except for the sardines, I would agree.

I pretty much love anything pickled....onions, olives, peppers...uh...anything! Oh yeah, and carrots!

It sounds kind of weird but I like them both on their own.

How about cottage cheese with fruit? Now that's a weird one.
