I use the AVG Free Anti Virus and am quite pleased with it.

I use a buisness version of norton, I don't have to update it every year (it does it itself) and it does a complete virus scan everyonce in a while. works fantastically

Amazingly easy to use, doesn't take up much resources and works remarkably well. I've installed it on many comptuers and it's great.

Oh, and it's free.

Condoms are the best way to avoid picking up a nasty virus.

This is the best program you'll find, in my humble opinion. Norton is a pile of crap.

Coming into this thread I was expecting SOMEONE to say condoms, hahaha

Norton and MacAffe are both terrible.

AVG is alright.

Avast is effective but annoying.

Panda is effective but extremely annoying.

I use Nod32.

You get over the "ZOMG SHIT AVAST DETECTS EVIL ON YOUR COMPUTER" messages after a while.

Problem with NOD32 is that it's not legally free.

Only LEUS3RZ pay attention to the law.

Bad analogy. The best way to not get a virus on your computer is to not go on the internet. But since we're already on the topic of being on the internet...

thanks peoples! I downloaded Avast and it instantly found sound malware, whatever that is... I reformatted yesterday

Buy a mac.

Or you know, you could just disconnect from the internet. That would be just as practical.

I use free antipyware stuff from my school. They e-mailed me in July to say that the program had been compromised or something and that I needed to download some patch. Haven't done it...waiting for computer to explode.

It was a joke... I not only have Word, but OpenOffice as well.
