Ocean is an amazing song.

"foundation" just blew my mind. the hair on my arms is standing up. i can't wait to listen the the rest of his stuff i got. especially the live stuff.

ocean is an amazing song! listened to the live version yesterday, and i'm listening to the studio version right now. their live stuff is great. lots of extended jams.

you want to check out "pickapart" as well as "zebra". both great songs.

but not the best thing to come out of australia since the didgeridoo. for that i look to nick cave & the bad seeds. or nick cave on his own.

i've heard both those songs ( i got pretty much their whole discography). i've never heard of nick cave, though. i'll look into it.

he's not for everyone. if you want a starting point, DL "abattoir blues/the lyre of orpheus", his most recent album.

i'm downloading it, but i just read the description on amazon and i'll be honest: the words "gospel choir" leave me with doubts as to whether i'll like it or not. i almost hope i don't just cuz it's their 13th album and i hate playing catch-up.

i gave them a listen last night and they pretty good. but later i listened to foundation, under an indian sky, and ocean by john butler, all back to back, and was blown away again. my original opinion stands: best thing outta australia since the didgeridoo.

actually, i really like the first half. could do without "the lyre of orpheus" i think. kinda drags a little.

i actually thought the same initially, but fell in love with it eventually.

i have all their albums now. "what you want" is currently my favorite song. that's the first time it hasn't been a nin or matthew good song in well over a year.
