I just purchased(that's right, purchased, not downloaded) Evan's Blue's Debut disc "The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume" which btw is a great great album...Anyways, and the singer/songwriter Kevin Matisyn lists Matty G in his thank you's

"Matt Good (not that I know him)"

and I just recently heard a radio interview with Kevin and he commented that Matt's music was a great influence on him, and his songwriting. Just thought everyone here would enjoy that little tidbit.

ps, go buy this album from a great new canadian band from the K-W region

It's like emo-alt. rock

couple radio friendly singles, but nothing like you hear usually on the radio. The songwriting is fantastic. Good guitar work as well. The whole band are all pretty talented musicians as well. Too bad this thread got moved, I thought it had more matt good relevance than half the threads in there, and that still doesn't say much. Either way, I hope people still read it

I, too, enjoy them. Wouldn't quite hail them as the next coming or anything, but their stuff is generally better than most of what winds up on the radio.

Vocalist sounds like he owes an awful lot to Maynard James Keenan, too.

Kevin Matisyn's voice sounds fuller and throatier than Maynards however, they do sing similarily.

you say this like you're better than everyone...what gives?

I don't know this guy but maybe he was trying to make a point that he like it SO much that he wanted to make sure to pay for it. Like how you always buy Matt Good albums even if you have downloaded stuff.

thank you sunshine...now I realize that most people that visit the bored are pretty dedicated music fans, and most of us do, usually, do the right thing and buy albums. I wasn't trying to make myself sound any better than any of us here. Don't get your panties in a twist

I'm listening to their song Cold right now. Doesn't sound like anything special, they actually remind me of the band Cold a little bit. They sound rather generic.

did you get a chance to check them out sunshine? or anyone else yet??

I'm too busy studying right now to check out music but I did hear Cold on the radio the very next morning and was like "yeah, that's Evan's Blue and they sound fun".

I just listened to the same song. It sounds far too Nickelbacky for my taste.

The single is catchy.

What other songs are good on the cd?

What's the general mood of the cd?

Their CD is definately not nickelbacky at all, I give you my word on that. The general mood isn't quite depressing as it is thoughtful. A lot of themes about souls, and love and the usual rock stuff.
