I'm looking at starting a blog. What is a blogging tool that is pretty customizable, probably free or cheap?

 

Also, what else do I really need to know about blogging and actually making it worth doing?

That's okay; I just plan to get a couple of other contributors and we'll have fun doing our thing and that's really it. Mostly high school friends that now live far away.

blogger.com makes it easy to have contributors. all the good background things are over used, but you can find different ones to substitute.

Wordpress is good fun and people will read it if you use something like livejournal or xanga and just talk about stuff your friends would know.

and the point of a blog is not to entertain, it's to get all that shit out.

and it's entertaining for those who do read.

blogspot.com is very popular among many of my friends. the stylesheet or format or whatever they use is very easy to customize and i haven't seen ads on them. also easily accessable web address: *username*.blogspot.com

I really like using wordpress as there are a lot of good plugins available, and it can be easily customized, etc. The only downside is that you have to have webspace with php and mysql in order to run it.

Blogger/Blogspot is what I use. But for serious, most people aren't going to give a fuck. Me thinks that blogs are on their decline. The golden age is over and it's not even the bronze age anymore.

At first it was unique and interesting, now every 12 year old has a blog and it's just tiring.

i use livejournal the most. i don't really like myspace because it's annoying...but livejournal i have a select few that read my posts...
