Record For Indie Album Sales?

i remember reading in an article a while back, that LOTGA held a record for the highest record sales for an indie album in canada. i'm not sure if it was true.

 

that was in the 90s. so my question is if the record has since been broken? with the recent surge of excellent indie bands in canada it's more than likely. but i couldn't find my answer on google.

I know who holds it in the states.. Until Pearl Jam comes out later this year on an Indie Label.

In the states, at least in 2003 it was held by none other than Hanson.

Pearl Jam didn't sign to Sony/BMG in Canada? They're on J Records (Sony/BMG) in the US.

 

I think the US record for an indie label is currently N'Sync's No Strings Attached. (At the time, Jive Records was still an indie label.)

i've still heard that it still is. it must have sold a lot of albums eh?

i am pretty sure it still is.

 

it does sell decently still, considering it's eleven or twelve years old.

no. it means that the label they are signed to, is an independant company and likely not backed by a billion dollar budget and shit.
