Beautiful Midnight Liner Notes

Recommended Posts

Last night i was looking at some old liner notes from my cd's and stumbled across "Beautiful Midnight". Does anyone know what all the "hidden/holographic" writing on the front and back cover is?? Is it lyrics to an unreleased song? I found out once, but know I can't remember. Help me so i can sleep at night again.

On a related note, I think it is one of my favorite album covers/liner notes ever.

I'm pretty sure they're just lines from movies and other random stuff. The last line "and the monkey flips the switch" is a line from the movie 'Lost in Space'.

I remember first seeing the cover when I bought the CD and being stunned at how simply neat it was for all the hidden stuff to be put on there. Yet another reason not to pirate music, albiet a small one.

Then there's the thing in on the Avalanche insert:

"in the morning

through the streets have there be no parade

no emergency

no parade

just the bells of st. laurence

and the empty mile to walk out of this town

back to the place of my birth

to go as i came"

No idea what that's from.

And the infamous "help us get rid of the matthew good band" on AOB.

I read that Rich's gf did the stuff, and I haven't read anything to contradict it.

i like inside the cover of Beautiful Midnight behind where the cd goes... "some things are better said with the lights out" sooooo true... i love how Matt puts all those little interesting things on his liner notes etc.

According to the Trouble Bunch section on Disorientation, it's Ian's girlfriend.

There are 3 different versions of that part of the Beautiful Midnight cd. The other 2 are "Missing(Your Picture Here)" or "Hello Time Bomb". Mine has the "Some things are better said w/ the lights out." I love that line!

I have the "some things are better said with the lights out" and the "hello time bomb" versions of the cds...

but i especially like the message:

and the monkey spilf the switch

never noticed that on AOB... i should probably really look at my CD covers one day.

It's actually not in the liner notes, it's on the small print on the actual disc, and on the inside spine of the cd case liner (the part under the plastic).

Thanks for clarifying which band member, as I was a late-blooming MGB fan and didn't pay much attention to who was who, aside from Matt.

I still dont know anything about the members of MGB, i know a little bit about Rich... but not too much.

Whats going on with the old band members anyways... what are they doing?

I read that one of the ones who left now plays in another band, this is probably Ian.

Dave Genn was in Holly McNarland's band a couple years ago. He might be still, but don't quote me on it. It was funny when i found out because i was at a concert of her's and all of a sudden i relized who was up on stage! I didn't recognize him for a while because he had quite long hair.
