Yeah it was pretty interesting. Some of the stories didn't really amaze me, but overall it was very well done. I also like some of the subtle song references (as he probably turned some pieces of these stories into pieces of songs) as you can see with things like the character named Mr. Chips.

there are some not-so-subtle song references. he uses his stories as elements in his songs, whether a line or two, or the entirety of the story.

that said, some of the best shit i've ever read.

Well, considering that 98% of the book is free on the internet already...it's really more of a collecter's item than anything else. Overall, it's pretty good. The Night Opus (I think that's what it's called) is the best, in my opinion.

as much as i love matt good. the book overall is kinda shitty. its got some really high points and a few really insightful ideas. but the truth is no one knows what he is talking about and anyone that thinks that it is really that great is kind of a poser. like was said earlier its not bad to escape with but it is by no means a great book.

I agree. A great read, some stories suck, but most are entertaining.

Ths stories that link up to the songs (Mr Chips, Jenni, etc...) blow my mind, cuz when you read, you can actually picture Matt going through some of it and it makes you wonder if any of it is real (event though Matt said it's all made up) but it makes you wonder, since he spends so much time on certain topics & characters.

Anyone know a good site for the contents of Black Market Surgery or have the text that they could send me? I had one, but the site shut down.

Thanks,

Dan

the more you read other classic books, i find you get the satire he is going for.

i just feel he may be over stepping his bounds with some of his ideas.
