Frankly, most one word band names suck.. their names that is. That's just my opinion. I think Coldplay is a lame name, and Pilate, Radiohead.. although I think all three bands are awesome.

 

(OLP is a great band.. but their name sucks.. it sounds too pretentious..)

I think the best names are ones which don't give away the type of music the artist plays. It should be simple and not distract away from the songs. That's why coldplay is a good name. I'm still partial to the Weakerthans, wicked name.

PJ Burton and the Chocolate Bunnies from Hell

 

They're a local band from Winnipeg who've been around forever. The lead singer was my English and drama teacher a few years back in high school. Complete burnout, just an all-around awful teacher, but I always liked the band name.

I actually only saw them on television on some amateur cover band competition a few years back. I remember loving the name.
