Steve Earle's Copperhead Road is the only album i own from the eighties, and i love it so much.

The only reason i don't hate REM is "Losing my Religion" and that time Gary Jules covered "Mad World."

I bought the Donnie Darko soundtrack solely for that Tears for Fears cover. There's two versions on the soundtrack and they're both fantastic.

Yeah, Gary Jules' version is far better than the original in my opinion.

The only thing I have from the 80's is probably The Cure. And maybe some of the Pixies stuff but I'm not sure about that.

i'm liking "closer" by joy division a lot. and then theres "juju" by siouxie and the banshees. "isn't anything" by my bloody valentine is pretty great too.

i think "fear of a black planet" is better than "pauls boutique". not by much though.

EDIT: i just realized that "fear" was made in '90. nevermind.

AC/DC - "Back In Black"

Fuck that.

Don't be hating the AC/DC.

So you want me to support a band that has made the same album over and over for the past 25 years? A simplistic hard rock band that only writes about chicks, thrills, cars, and balls. Nothing more. How did they manage to pick up two clowns who sounded exactly the same anyway?

I think Ultramega OK owns Louder Than Love because it doesn't have Full On Kevin's Mom or Big Dumb Sex.

if you think bon scott and brian johnson sound the same... well, you're an idiot. and it may be true that they've released basically the same album for 25 years, but back in black is the album that they've copied. the pinnacle, if you will.
