the mars volta - frances the mute

red sparowes - at the soundless dawn

alive & living - p.l.o.

city and colour - sometimes

dredg - catch without arms

i think 2004 was better in retrospect.

yeah i can see that. i was more excited this year just because most of the mainstream acts i like such as the foos and QOTSA and NIN all put albums out, meaning that they'd go on tour.

Perhaps only in my opinion, but I would add

Fall Out Boy From Under The Cork Tree

Institute Distort Yourself

EDIT: Oh, and my friend would have me mention The Arctic Monkeys, cos they're a pretty cool new band, but have no album to buy just yet.

right, it certainly is good... but nothing on it was new content aside from "oh be joyful!"...

and it's not an album... like you've said, it's a package.

Red Sparrowes - At the soundless Dawn

did not expect to see that listed by anybody. anywhere. ever.

hah, more people need to check out that album.

For a debut, it is amazing.

There was lots of new content. Rooms was new. I personally had never heard Big City Life or Pony Boy before either.

Or seen the Rabbits video. And how cool would it have been to just stick the Joyful video on there for laughs. I dug it.

disappointments::::::

audioslave

umm...

there are someothers...

i personally think that out of exile was a far better audioslave release than their debut. it sounded like a proper release, it wasn't chris cornell fronting rage any longer, they actually had become something. but no, it wasn't mind blowing. but i really didn't expect it to be, either. so maybe thats why i don't think it was dissapointing, but it surely hasn't seen much time in my CD player.
