I'm expecting this to sink like a stone in the sea, but whatever.

Dimmu Borgir are a Norweigen symphonic blackmetal band, funky fresh, and unlike anything i've heard before. The english lyrics can be a little corny at times, being their second language and all, but i love them. I find that if i play the album in through, it's really relaxing.

Eradication Instincts Defined has amazing symphonic work, and i would encourage y'all to DL that one at least...

Progenies of the Great Apocalypse

For the World to Dictate Our Death

Eradication Instincts Defined

Allehelgens Dod I Helveds Rike

Allegiance

It's because you have bad taste.

All the scenesters know that it's the ribcage that rocks hardest.

Did you even listen?

I'm listening, they sound petty cool.

I'm glad you like!

I think some of the music i listen to is far too crazy for MG fans, even though i love MG.

And yes, that is a challenge to everyone! Just wait for my Anaal Nathrakh thread ;)

i've heard the first song before, it's not bad. the rest i'll listen to later when i've got time to devote my mind to that sort of thing. i found you have to be in a certain mood to listen to this stuff.

those crazy Norweigen black metal bands... theres this one band i read about where the members all just killed each other. so, fittingly theres only one original member left and for some reason, people keep joining the band.

Some of them are very odd. I know Emperor broke up when 2/3rds of the band went to prison for their part in a good ol-fashioned church-burnin!

But i agree with you, until i grew to know every song by itself, it was something that you need the right mood for.

"Progenies.." was in the movie Dawn of the Dead, if my memory serves me correctly, but it's been years since i saw that movie, so i can't be certain.

I'm a metalhead and I love Matthew Good too! Though, I'm not too much into dimmu... I did think Progenies was good, but mostly because Abbath was on vocals.

i like you but you like scary music so i'm not gonna listen to those songs, i'm sorry, please don't hate

I don't hate. I respect you for saying that ;)

What do you mean by scary? They're not like Green Day, i promise.

EDIT: and Morbii, what do you listen to?

a troubled young man from my high school listened to dimmu borgir. he sent sexually-harassing e-mails to my best friend and paid people to beat me up.

(not that i'm equating dimmu borgir to those traits. i'm just fondly remembering.)

this isn't highschool this isn't highschool.

i heart Brand New.

Well, when kids at school got me down, i always brought a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire and threatened their parents.

Well not really. I guess i was lucky, and got nothing more than the occasional 'fag' from kids who were far enough away from me so that they weren't risking themselves in anyway.

a LOT of stuff.. I prefer more raw/grim to symphonic....

Immortal, Bathory, Graveland, Antestor, Evroklidon, Graven, Primordial, Weakling, Shining, Sigh to name a few

Heard of both. I had an Anaal Nathrakh CD, but I think I sold it. A lot of death metal gets old quick to me. I have heard of Anorexia Nervosa, but have never actually listened to them.
