Good way for collection to get stolen and good way for CDs to get scratched by incompetence in removing CDs from said binder. Avoid unless absolutely necessary for auditory enjoyment.

Worst way.

Four years ago, someone broke into my locker and stole my cd holder which held 24 cds (booklets included) and my $200 cd player.

backup cd collection.

I don't believe in burned cds.

Not even as a backup to CDs legally purchased?

Nope, it just isn't the same.

I use one for my DVD's, since that doesn't ever leave my house or anything. Once borrowed my friend's CD binder and it got stolen, took forever to pay it all off.

yeah i agree, and i have my music backed up on a external hard drive, not CDs. it feels the same to me.

i have music on my harddrive and burned and that's the only thing i use those things for because i like leaving my cds in the cases on the shelf so they look pretty and i can admire them and feel like i'm cool because i have awesome cds

so you do not agree that stacks and stacks of cds is a pretty attractive sight?

Posted

well, i don't know, i don't really have stacks and stacks of cds.. so i guess i don't really know.. perhaps i need to see your stacks in all their glory to know for sure..

Posted

i currently have 6 stacks

that's not very many but it's enough to be too much to

fill up a shelf

Posted

how many in a stack?

Posted

i'll get back to you on that

counting involves getting up and i am just not up to that right now

Well I have a 330 cd collection. You can't expect me to back them all up? Besides, it's just a more genuine feeling listening to the original cd but I know that you are all products of the mp3 world.

how is there a difference aside from the surface to which the data is saved to? i can see your point if you were to say something like "i enjoy the sound of vinyl over mp3s" but there is no difference between CDs and mp3s... i still buy CDs don't get me wrong, and i like having the stacks of CDs like mrs. jesus says, and i like looking at the liner notes, but i don't get what you're saying. if you've paid for the music either way, how does listening to a CD differ from listenning to it from your harddrive?
