Anyone else hate how he keeps switching from high register to low register and vice versa??? i love this song but i wish he had just stuck with one.the whole song in just one register would have been much better. the song just seems to lose its flow when he switched back and forth.

Honestly, I thought the same thing. I really didn't like the rooms version at first but it has grown on me.

I loved this version, personally. Much more sombre verses really made the 'headlight morning glow' part stand out more, to me anyways.

i don't know what registers have to do with songs

Well you have to pay for the cd and all, you know.

well i dont know singing terms but 1 second hes singing high and next word hes singing really low

Yeah it throws me off too. But since it and Hello Time Bomb are the only two not-so-good songs in Rooms, I can deal with it. Some of the others are just so great.

Yeah i noticed that too. I don't object to the switching registers thing, but it does kinda throw me off when im following it in my head, being used to the original far more than the Rooms version.

personally i dont even notice it, i like the entire cd none the less. there are some weaker songs, but HOLY CRAP!!!(off topic) he does go low. wow. and then high! crazy!!! kudos to him.

I was very disapointed with the Rooms Version (minus the added Audio at the end).

I really miss the rousing chorus that was left out: "That you have and you hold..."

I wonder how he chooses to perform the song live/accoustically?

At first I didn't like the switching registers thing but now I like it. I like that he used his lower register a lot in Rooms because we haven't heard that in a while. As for cutting off the ending I didn't like that at first either but then I realized that the song is more effective when it ends on "headlight morning glow". The rest really isn't that necessary.

Took some time to get used to it but its grown on me considerably - still love the original more though.........

Personally, I don't like the way he did the verses on Rooms. I agree that it really doesn't seem to flow as well.

However, I think that can be largely attributed to the fact that we're used to the original version.

On both versions, the "headlight morning glow" bit gives me goosebumps. Can't tell why, or even name another song that does it...

I get the exact same way. The very first time I was listening to Rooms, I literally had to stop what I was doing when I heard the line.

Hello Time Bomb on Rooms is beautiful...surprised that more people don't like it. It's such a cool take on it.

I didn't like PTD at first.. but it's grown on me. I guess the songs that were really changed throw people off (including me). I really dug North American For life too.. for the first time actually.. but i'm sure others hate it.

Strange thing this music stuff. ;)
