I am a big Yellowcard fan. I like poppy stuff when i'm in the right mood, but anyway, what else would jock-ish kids write about? Songs about scoring don't have the same frenzied demographic as 'you smashed my heart.'

But i never thought of Yellowcard as cheesy. I thought that they are one of the few bands that can pull off a tasteful emo sound.

Empty Apartment was an attempt to annoy me and me alone by having it played on One Tree Hill, and then having all my jock friends who watch it because their girlfriends do talk about it for the next three months.

You know what, i listened to the album again for the first time in quite a while, and i realised that their lyrics are actually quite varied, considering their genre.

"Back Home" i guess is kinda about being alone, but not really.. I sure hope "Life of a Salesman" is about a significant other hahaha. "View From Heaven" and "believe" are not about girls either...

Defensive is a bad color on you.

edit: wtf I can't post after myself. That's horrible.

i don't get you but i like you.

i don't see how yellowcard is any different from anything else in that genre.

it's all the same.

I agree. When I happen to hear songs from Yellowcard, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Green Day, etc... I can never tell which of them it is (especially when it comes to vocals) cuz they do all sounds the same.

Woah, woah.

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things is not quite the same can you guess which one is not like the other? Then you've played our gaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

You know that Green Day song isn't all that bad given their history of musical degridation. It's relativly anthematic like "Time of your life"

Note: This isn't a good thing. Every moment of nostalgia i have has been corrupted by this song. It has been played at my middle school grad, my high school grad, my prom, my best friend's funeral and my sister's wedding.

Yellowcard, Simple Plan and Good Charlotte have given absolutely nothing to music, whereas Green Day has and they continue to put on an amazing show even today and their songwriting is very different. I don't see how you can put them in with the others, it doesn't make sense.

probably because green day sucks like woah and always have and the only people that still like them are those with sentimental attachments to crappy music they liked when they were 12 or people with bad taste
