Bands That You Used To Hate...

Recommended Posts

I used to hate certain bands when I was back in high school.

But now that I am older (wiser?) I can't get enough of 'em.

The short list includes:

Marilyn Manson

Rage Against the Machine

Atari Teenage Riot

alexisonfire

mgb

the tragically hip

at the drive-in

coheed and cambria

most of those are because i didn't give them a chance before dismissing them - except alexisonfire.. i genuinely hated them until they put out a good album.

Eminem. i can only appreciate his music and humour now that the majority of the craze about him is over.

I hated Slipknot until i was well into puberty. i bought S/T for "wait and bleed," hated the album, then bought Iowa, loved it, and went back and now they're on of my favourite bands.

I also hated the Used on first listen.

EDIT: oh man, i despised Mindless Self Indulgence the first time i played their Frankenstein Girls cd. Like, despised as in i felt the urge to go to their homes and kill their parents for birthing the musicians, before killing the actual band.

Now they're one of my top 10 favourite bands.

i grew up hating korn and slipknot and such "evil" bands but now i love those sweet, deep, grooves of korn. there are times when nothing moves me more.

silly parents. they just dont know what evil really is.

i still hate Jack Johnson. i don't mind his single, but his album is godamned boring, in my opinion.

i used to like Jack Johnson but now i never listen to him lol, its cause all these people call him "chill" and think they're "hippies" for listening to it. fuck that. the music is good but i just cant stand it, all those tools have ruined his music and pissed on my terroitory

I used to hate alot of metal come to think of it, but I've gradually come to like heavier and heavier stuff, though not bullshit metal. I used to think Staind was hard, now I'm struggling to find anything heavy enough while remaining melodic and talented.

I'm too stubborn to bother with bands I hated in the past =P

Though Moist and U2 were a couple of bands that I never really like much (far from hate, mind you) but now I can't get enough of em
