With the MG Greatest Hits coming out, is there any other band or artist that you can think of would put out an awesome collection if they did?

I'll start by saying I'm waiting for Jane's Addiction to release one.

I don't know...I think Greatest Hits albums are good when you like the singles a band has released, but you're not really looking to get hardcore into them.

i'm not a fan of greatest hits either.

what about bands that dont have radio singles?

i think dead kennedys would have an awesome greatest hits album.

then again, i suppose they wouldnt be able to

compare "greatest hit" quality to a delightful song.

sure, but if the singles are good chances are the songs that aren't singles are even better.

don't you think?

greatest hits albums are good -not very fan of them though- when they include new stuff not released before: i mean, for example, different versions of the all-time singles, live stuff, recording process... things like that...

if you really like a band and the greatest hits just include all the singles, actually it is "useless" (in my opinion) to have a greatest hits: everybody could make his "own" greatest hits album of his/her favorite band just putting all the singles together and make a CD out of that

I know "The Age of Electric" is working on a greatest hits or best of..., so maybe that one will turn out well.

Age of Electric was a cool Canadian band in the mid Nineties that featured members of Limblifter. I liked them.

i bought Barenaked Ladies greatest hits, becaus i only kind of like them. not enough to warrent buying a few of their albums.

Stone Temple Pilot's was good, because in my opinion, they only had three good songs per CD anyway, even though those three would be REALLY good.

I think Disturbed would be a good Greatest Hits band.

Just so you all know, The Age of Electric released the following:

The Electric EP

The Latest Plague (full length. featured the single Aphrodisiac Smile)

The Ugly EP (featured the single Ugly)

The Age of Electric (full length. featured the singles Untitled and Enya)

Make a Pest a Pet (full length. featured the singled Remote Control, I Don't Mind, and Don't Wreck It)

Don't mind me, AOE were (and remain) one of my favourite bands ever.

and you can buy 2 of them.

The Beasties kind of already have greatest hits, The Sounds of Science. I guess they do need something a litte more streamlined, but it is a great collection.

"The Age of Electric" were a Canadian band from the 90s, they featured Todd Kerns (lead vocals (on all but two songs I believe)/guitar), Ryan Dahle (lead vocals (on two songs I believe)/guitar), John Kerns (bass), Kurt Dahle (Drums). Todd Kerns has also played in "Static In Stereo", "TKO", and has a solo career. John Kerns played in "Static In Stereo" too before moving onto "Robin Black and The Intergallatic Rock Stars". Ryan Dahle, and Kurt Dahle formed "Limblifter" together in the nineties, but Kurt Dahle later left the band, while remaining in "The New Pornographers", he also helps out Todd Fancey's solo career "Fancey" sometimes. Ryan Dahle still plays in "Limblifter", but also plays in Matthew Good's live band... The song "Remote Control" was also a "Limblifter" song before it was an "Age of Electric" song...
