If you had, what exactly did you like about it? I'm a pretty big fan of RHCP, and I think he's an amazing guitarist, I loved Shadows Collide with People, I'm just not so sure about the 6 albums in 6 months that he put out last year...

yeah, it's not something that you can just throw in your cd player/iPod and crank. It just isn't that kind of music.

You should definatly check out some of his stuff. It isn't really rhcp material, but it is worth the listen. Some of his drug induced stuff is insane. He played guitar over backwards guitar riffs and such. Check out a few samples on iTunes.

I've listened to a fair amount of his solo work, and i really enjoy it.

Check out "To Record Only Water for Ten Days." Really lo-fi experimental stuff, lots of gnarly guitar layers. His voice is frail and scratchy but very expressive at the same time.

 

He made it before "Shadows Collide With People" which is a rather popish therefore shitty record in comparison.

 

I haven't heard any of the new records yet. I thought "Shadows" was so bad that I vowed never to waste other $16 ever again.
