Another good band would be Thee Shams, a blues-rock band out of Cinncinati. They're nothing too original, but they can still rock hard and play good music all the same.

Sneaker Pimps is very modern and electric. Has a cool jazzy feel to some songs, and then a psychadelic rock feel to others. They've done stuff with Zero 7, Marilyn Manson, and Bjork. *edit* and of course, Radiohed.

A great band would be the Capitol Years. They've got a cool garage-band, DIY sound to their music. It's a fair bet that any indie lover would enjoy them.

THey aren't fantastic, but good nonetheless. The one who opened for them - Lindy, he is one of my favourite singer/songwriters of all time. You should actually check him out right away.
