Star Trek: Enterprise Cancelled!

After four seasons, Star Trek: Enterprise has reached the end of its mission ...

PRESS RELEASE

UPN and Paramount Network Television have jointly announced that this will be the final season of Star Trek: Enterprise on UPN. [Production will continue until the end of this season, which will finish shooting in March.] The series finale will air on Friday, May 13, 2005.

"Star Trek has been an important part of UPN's history, and Enterprise has carried on the tradition of its predecessors with great distinction," said Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, UPN. "We'd like to thank Rick Berman, Brannon Braga and an incredibly talented cast for creating an engaging, new dimension to the Star Trek universe on UPN, and we look forward to working with them, and our partners at Paramount Network Television, on a send-off that salutes its contributions to The Network and satisfies its loyal viewers."

David Stapf, President of Paramount Network Television, said, "The creators, stars and crew of Star Trek: Enterprise ambitiously and proudly upheld the fine traditions of the Star Trek franchise. We are grateful for their contributions to the legacy of Trek and commend them on completing nearly 100 exciting, dramatic and visually stunning episodes. All of us at Paramount warmly bid goodbye to Enterprise, and we all look forward to a new chapter of this enduring franchise in the future."

A prequel to the original "Star Trek" series, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE premiered on UPN on Sept. 26, 2001, and aired for its first three seasons on Wednesdays (8:00-9:00PM, ET/PT). On Oct. 8, 2004, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE moved into its current time on Fridays (8:00-9:00PM, ET/PT). Through its four-year run, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE produced a total of 98 episodes and earned four Emmy Awards.

That's good news for Stargate. The company I work for does a lot of the VFX for Stargate and they always lose to whatever Star Trek is on the air. I think part of it is political because Stargate is a Vancouver show and thise LA types don't like that. But now? Who knows.

There could be another "Star Trek" spin-off in the near future though, because "Enterprise" came out after "Voyager" with only a summer break or something like that. There's apparently a letter writing campaign currently going on at http://www.saveenterprise.com/, I don't know if it will work this time though. However, after the original "Star Trek" was cancelled after only two years, fans wrote letters in a letter campaign which brought the show back for awhile.

Enterprise was actually getting better too ;).

This season has been really good. It is exremely disappointing to see it end. I wonder why Paramount doesn't just take it to another network.

It would be cool if they tried to continue it on somewhere else. I've liked the show since the start so it's disappointing to see it end before it's time. Hopefully, the letter writing campaign will be successful though.

Enterprise was doomed from the start; they took the crew and producers from the infinitely inferior Voyager rather then DS9, consistently screwed up ST history, and did way too much of the show based on time travel, whereas in the past it was limited to two part episodes for the most part.

Everything about it was lame. Not sad to see it go.

Enterprise was way better than voyager, and almost as good a DS9 was at the end. Plus Scot Bakula made an excellent captian. Hopefully this campaign will work and the series will continue on.

This really sucks all the series I really enjoy keep getting cancled.

Space above and beyond

While I like Bakula and agree it is better then Voyager, it still sucked massive amounts of ass.

Scott Bakula owns, and Jolene Blalock is a babe

Fuck this, there's next to no good Sci-Fi on anymore. Now SG-1 and Atlantis are all I have left.

SG1 is going to end in a season though...

Posted

SG1 will have one more season without Richard Dean Anderson, though they are trying to get him for season 9. Amanda Tapping is Pregnant and won't be in the first half of season 9.

As far as enterprise goes it was almost cancelled last year and barely survived, it was comming. Too bad, it was just getting good.

A positive note, means hopefully Scot Bakula might be interested in the New Quantum leap show they are thinking of doing.

Look Circum, if you're joking about the New Quantum Leap that's wrong. To play with someones emotions like that... You made me cry now.

lasted longer than i thought.. star trek went way down after TNG.. i mean, come on, a female captain and a black captain? what the hell.. women and black people don't watch star trek..

Captain Janeway was a fox, though. I'm sure she made many a trekkie's pjs wet at night.

I'll never betray my Next Generation. I haven't been into a Star Trek since TNG and I probably won't. I have fond memories of TNG keeping me unpopluar in high school and I'd like to keep it that way.

that made me laugh

janeway was hell not eye candy, although she wasn't too bad as a captain

Voyager is my favourite trek!

Voyager was the worst ST, and Janeway was definately not attractive, although, yes, she did make a good captain. Enterprise is sooo much better than Voyager.

He was joking about a new quatum leap... now I'm sad ;)

On another note Space has been broadcasting the new Battlestar Galtica, and I must say I'm really really enjoying it. I have to stop myself from downloading all the episodes off the net to extend the pleasure.

we are the societal outcasts of the world.

Yeah Star Trek has a way of doing that to people. Oh well, fuck em, I look great in red and black.
