The Fine Art of Falling Apart anyone?

I Miss New Wave.. thats so depressing ;)

I don't really find Matt's music depressing at all... even though there are alot of slower songs, some with rather bleak lyrics. I think there is something about the way he sings them that makes them beautiful rather than depressing.

I don't find Empty Road to be depressing. I think it's one of his more uplifting songs. I think his most depressing song (also one of his best) is The Rat Who Would Be King.

"But that's just love and you know that love's not enough"

running for home is the most depressing for me. "i close my mouth now and i scream, i open the door and there's nothing left redeeming".....god i love that song.....

"Heather's Like Sunday" is a pretty sad one.

Also "Message To God"

Course these are lesser known ones, but lyrically, I think the most depressing.

I think that the end of Born To Kill(BM) is really depressing with how it cuts of.

Although I don't really find that many MG songs depressing, I've got to agree with Alex.. Running for Home is a pretty sad song, and the perfect way to end a perfect album.

I voted prime time deliverance just because its not the kind of song i feel happy after hearing. But i would say the fine art of falling apart tops any.

'A Long Way Down' is pretty depressing.

You know its a damn shame the sun don't shine underground

Maybe that's where it's been

Maybe that's where I've been

On the poll, however, I said 'Fated'.

Yeah, out of the songs on the list, I also chose Fated. I mean, it's a song about being bad at life and longing to be dead. If that ain't depressing I don't know what is.

"Sort of a Protest Song" - Mainly due to it always reminded me of the day I nearly lost my sight. Although AoB is an uplifting record for me since I used it to calm me down throughout that day.

How about Jenni's Song?

Posted

I said WWWHR because that song has always seemed to signify emptiness (I'm Just A Boat On The Ocean, I'm Just A Ship Lost At Sea).

I'd have to go with Fated, as well.

I voted for while we were hunting rabbits however its been awhile since i was your man hits me hard

I voted for Fated.

But I would say one of the most depressing songs he has is The Fine Art Of Falling Apart.

I have three possible depressing Matt Good songs.....that are very depressing....."Apparations", "Running For Home", and "Sort of A Protest Song"...not to mention "In A World Called Catastrophe" because it was written about the breakup of his band.

Posted

It would have to be for me pledge of allegiance because of a personal experince i cant listen to that song anymore.
