In the poll, it says TODAY. Technically U2 is the only band that's doing anything right now. I would've said White Stripes, though.

Radiohead. Flaming Lips second, Modest Mouse a distant third. Interpol, Fugazi, Xiu Xiu, and Sonic Youth are up there too.

 

I really don't understand the choices offered. The White Stripes and the Strokes are the only other good bands up there - the others are either bands who, never that good to begin with, are long past their prime (U2, Oasis) or sucked hard all along (Coldplay and RHCP). Seriously, Oasis??

I'll give them What's the Story as a decent album (still overhyped, and as cliched as it might be to say this, it still has to be said - it's no Parklife), but I have to say I'm honestly surprised people still care about them by this point.

The only reason they still get notoriety today is because the Gallagher brothers stir so much shit up that it's impossible to go anywhere without hearing mention of them.
