I love Joss Whedon's work (My 2 fave shows are Buffy and Angel) so Firefly is up there but i voted for X-Files.

How can you put Firefly which only existed for maybe 7 episodes and not put Joss Whedon's two other major shows (Buffy & Angel) on the list? That makes no sence.

star trek is classic. especially next gen. the prequel one is good too. you know, the one with scott bakula. great actor.

Firefly is big in its DVD form with people here at school and i personally do not count angel or buffy as sci fi however much i enjoyed them. They are fantacy which to me is a completely different beast despite the fact they are often grouped together in book stores.

Doctor Who is by far the greatest. Longest running sci fi show of all time and now that it's been revived for 2005, it (hopefully) may never die.

yes doctor who is great, but then most shows out of england are when compared to the crap that gets made over here(in general, some shows are good but lately, YUK).

It appears they recently revived Earth 2, as in today. Which if I remember correctly, was fundamentally monstrous.

 

Space: Above and Beyond seemed good at the time, but if I saw it again today, I'm not sure what I'd think.

 

I still maintain that for the most part, Babylon 5 was the best.

For all its faults (ie flimsy sets) I like Doctor Who the best. Apparently they got the rights to use the Daleks in the new series. But I hope those xenophobic pepperpots don't make an appearance until later on. And it better not suck as much as the TV movie did (even though Paul McGann was awesome, he couldn't save it).
