Hi, hope everyone's doing well. Apologize if it was discussed earlier -- just wondering about the Vinyl release:

1. Is the tracklisting the same for the Patreon Excusive + regular version? Hopefully the only difference is that the Patreon exclusive ones are signed (and might ship with some extras)?

2. Any clue what the tracklisting is? I suppose it'll have the 5 from the EP, with Pandemic + Too Much Emotion?

Unfortunately couldn't subscribe but I saw some update message about the vinyl on Patreon, seems y'all should be receiving them soon! Eager to hear all about it.

1.  It looks like the Patreon Exclusive vinyl will have all of the songs intact.

According to Patreon (Oct 3):

I hope that means all eight digital files will be included as well.

2. When I was on the True Fan tier on Patreon, I saw the track listing for the Patreon Exclusive vinyl. Side A has 4 tracks, and side B has 4 tracks.

Yesterday, I saw on Facebook that Matt is finishing getting the new album jackets signed.  I guess they weren't shipped out on November 29th.

I look forward to receiving the Patreon exclusive vinyl in the mail and seeing what it looks like.

What's on the Patreon exclusive vinyl (quote from Patreon, Mar 26):

I refused the "free merch pick, but excluding the hoody" the team offered at the 2024 VIP, thinking that it would justify demanding the "Exclusive Tracks" cassette they promised us, later on... it's kinda funny that no one knows what would have been on it.

At this point I'm just hoping that the vinyl actually gets shipped out, with a download code that isn't compressed/MP3... so I don't have to digitize it to get the +2 tracks lossless (love TME, dislike P + wish we could somehow get a lossless version of the original version of Triage and other demos like Victory is Free & Back of the Tiger).

I do. Probably not appropriate to name it, but completists can calm down. You've already heard this one.

 I think it's very appropriate to name it. He stiffed numerous people of a paid product. We're never going to get it, so you might as well spill the beans. It will at least give us some kind of closure  What's the big deal? It seems like you're trying to protect him.

It should be named to at least give people closure. Full disclosure, I didn't attend any of the shows as I am in the US but I'd planned on going to multiple shows here before getting the cancelled notice and feel for the people who didn't receive what they were promised.

 

I also saw the reddit and people aren't happy as they didn't receive the album, and the one guy who did receive his was missing the lyric sheets and the track by track notes by Matt that were promised to those who purchased the limit edition version.

Seriously, I haven't been following the situation with all this merch stuff, so I'm in the dark about why people need closure on it. I was told about a tape with a song you all heard more than 20 years ago, and figured I could at least offer closure in that form. I don't chat with him much these days, so I can't be sure if the plan stayed the same. He changed the title and the art for what became Zero Hours, so who knows if it was serious.

With all due respect Scott, I find it hard to believe you haven't heard about the merch situation considering if you have posted in the very reddit thread how you designed the original artwork and then it was changed.  If you didn't want to tell people the song you probably shouldn't have mentioned you know what it is. Otherwise it sounds like you are coming off as a dick which from what I know of you you aren't.

To be clear, I'm not "protecting" anyone. And how much I choose to share from a private conversation is up to me. I don't work for MG, least of all as customer service.

Thanks. You didn't have to say anything, but I appreciate that you did. You did 10 times more than his customer service team has done in the past 1.5 years.

The only explanation that makes sense to me at this point is that Team Mangan would have caught wind of Team MG saying the vinyl would still have the songs cut from the digital release, and forced a situation where Matt had to either:

1. Release the vinyl with Too Much Emotion and risk legal action
2. Re-cut the vinyl (perhaps some LPs had even already been pressed at this point) without that song
3. Trash the project and refund everyone

And they would have chosen option 2.  This could explain why the track-by-track (which would've had Too Much Emotion printed in the middle of it) and the digital download (same reason) were omitted, as so much money would have already gone into re-cutting the LP and sleeves.  Now it's just damage control as they get the re-cut LPs into the re-printed and re-signed sleeves and into the mail.

This is purely speculation on my part, but it does cover a lot of the "but why" parts of this very frustrating situation.  Honestly my bigger concern is that this nonsense is taking money and attention away from the LOTGA re-release, which I unfortunately will not be surprised to see buried after all this.
