I think Nirvana is over rated, so I'm going with Pearl Jam.

I've only heard alot from Pearl Jam, so that's what I voted, but it doesn't matter much I guess because I don't really know anything about the other bands nor have I heard alot of their music.

i've heard alot from all of them except alice in chains.. im still going to say nirvana.

I don't think Kurt Cobain was a really great guitar player or singer, but he was an awesome lyricist. The best musician in the group was Dave Grohl. The only reason Nirvana became the 'leader of the pack' is because they got a major record deal first, whereas Pearl Jam's first release was out a full year before 'Nevermind', and only after Nirvana's big label success did things start looking up for them. I still like them, though.

maybe kurt didn't have the best voice- but he delivered the songs like no other could.

Anyone ever heard of Mad Season?

It's a song by Matchbox 20...

Mad Season is a collaboration between a bunch of Seattle artists including Layne Staley (Alice in Chains), Mike McCreedy(Pearl Jam) and Barrett Martin(Screaming Trees). They put out an album called "Above" in 1995. It's pretty mellow and really good. Check it out if you like there bands.

Thanks. I guess that would be why the vocals don't sound like Layne Staley's.

Not really into Grunge. If I had to choose though, it would be a toss-up between Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

i voted nirvana, well case i did...but alice in chains is pretty awesome

I voted Nirvana... for me, the beginning of everything ;)

Pearl Jam...though I don't generally listen to grunge, but Do The Evolution is excellent. See avatar.

Grunge rules! Most of my favorite music came outta that era. 2 songs for you to check out that you may not have heard are "Chloe Dancer/Crowns of Thorns" by Mother Love Bone and also "Nearly Lost You" by the Screaming Trees.

oh ya... Pearl Jam gets my vote

My vote would have to go to alice in chains, i love laynes guttural melodies, it was so sad when he died, everyone i talked to had no fucking clue who he was

I voted Nirvana, but I love all of those bands. I miss grunge, I wish bands were still making it.

goodie goodie... Nirvana is winning ;)

I have albums by all of those bands. It's a very hard choice. Alice in Chains just slighty.
