Driving From Ottawa To Montreal For A Concert. Help Me!

Recommended Posts

Posted

This Sunday i'm going to see Metallica at the Bell Centre in Montreal. I live in Ottawa. Plan is to leave Ottawa in the morning, drive the 2.5 hours, see concert, go home that night after concert. Never driven to Montreal before. Never driven a vehicle anywhere more than 1 hour outside Ottawa before actually, so kinda nervous.

Friends have told me it's crazy driving in Montreal. One friend told me it would be better to park my car outside downtown Montreal and take the subway to the Bell Centre. I dunno. Oh yeah, gotta remember no right-turns on red lights, correct?

Any advice?

Turning right on red lights is now LEGAL in Quebec except where there's a sign saying otherwise. It's also illegal on Montreal Island. I dunno where the Bell center is, but keep that in mind.

If you live in Ottawa and have a car/access to a car, why haven't you driven to Montreal before? I'm not trying to be funny or mean, I'm just saying, I'd have at least been curious and done it.

Just got a car a few months ago after years of not having one.

And thanks to peeps on the right-on-red thing.
