The Da Vinci Code

So hurrah for The Da Vinci Code is awesome. It only took me a year to get off my ass and read it. I thought it might be overrated, or not able to live up the hype, but damn it it was so damn good.

 

On that note: I prefer Angels and Demons. Possibly because I hadn't heard much about it and it doesn't get nearly the publicity as it's sequel. But Vittoria beats the hell out of Sophie any day and I love random old Catholic Church myths and stuff.

 

So...what'd you think? Have you read it? Does it deserve the publicity it gets or not?

It wasn't overrated. It was fun and I prefer the code over A&D. Why? Anit-matter doesn't suit the book.

They're both great, not over-rated, just over publisized.

 

I like The Code a biy better, because of the art references.

I found the ending to 'Da Vinci Code' to be anti-climatic. Other than that, both it and 'Angels & Demons' were quite good. Very well researched.

I liked Angels and Demons better than The Da Vinci Code personally; I thought that the action sequences that Brown wrote about in that one were faster paced.

 

On a side note, I liked Digital Fortress better than both of them. It had solid technology references and the ending jives well with the beginning.

I enjoyed all of them...they are not over-rated...mass exposure makes 1 outta 2 people hate something...despite the fact that they deep down really like it. And Digital Fortress did own.

Gah I lurve your icon October. In any case I agree of course. I've just finished deception point which was good despite me giving up on it due to lack of attention.

I personally really liked the book, it was very well researched and i dont think anyone can take that away from the book.

Agreed. Most of his books are, and the factual inaccuracies in some are things I overlook, because he is, after all, a fiction writer.
