Well I trust him and apparently MG mailed him about it. I also got a response on my post on Underdogs from MG:

 

Alert Status Red is #2 this week nationally and has been in the top five forever. A song doing well at radio these days does not mean sales.

 

I'm glad they went with this song rather than something aimed at playing the mainstream radio listener game. Most of the bands I like don't even get played on the radio, so no big deal.

In Canada, singles for sale are not as common as they are in Europe. So no, the majority of his singles do not get released for public consumption.

seems to be a pattern in the releases made by mg lately, first he has an uptempo one come out, followed by a slower, mid tempo-ish one, followed by another uptempo one
